Can't fly under the radar how fantastic Draymond was in this game. By far the best game of the series from him.

Curry is going to go down as the 21st Century Russell.
SAS?
I don't know if SA really counts as a dynasty when another team 3-peated between two of their titles. They were also so errandic in their performance between those years too.
My basis for excluding SA from that tier is they never produced the ATG seasons the Warriors and Bulls did multiple times. And while I place less emphasis on the post-season than others, Russell era Celtics hammerlock is just too powerful to ignore.
SA is solidly in the 2nd group of Showtime/Bird Celtics/Shaq/Kobe era Celtics.

As you can tell from my other posts I put less weight on the post-season than others. I think if you simulate 99-07 100 times there are plenty of timelines were a they win 3 in a row. They probably do if Manu doesn't lose his mind and foul Dirk at the end of those 3. But of course they didn't. And you can't give em credit for what didn't occur.
And even their performance isn't quite strong enough to justify inclusion. No shame in being in that 2nd tier.

I wish I could remember the poster who said it but Dray is a good proxy test for basketball IQ. When someone tells me they don't see him as a generational player my eyes just roll.

You ain't lying how big of a problem Prop 13 is.
The creation of the Proposition system in California may well be what ends up crippling the state's well-being.

To note, I don't rate the Warriors offense this season particularly highly historically but below average to good depending on the night to me sells them short and especially given very specifically referring to the playoffs with that statement. They had two average offensive series against strong defenses in Memphis/Boston and tore Denver/Dallas up (arguably the two most impressive offensive series of the playoffs by any team). The Dallas series in particular was the best offensive series of the post season by some margin imo.
I bought a boat.

What happens when the best offensive player of a generation and the best defensive player of a generation end up on the same team?

they won 3 titles in a 5 year stretch, and were a contender the other 2
that is definetely a dinasty
They're a dynasty. If you have a ten year stretch were you have highest average SRS, avg 58 wins (pro-rated), 4 titles, 6 CF appearances (conferences were super imbalanced back then) you're a dynasty. It'd be silly to say because the Blazers choked in G7 they're excluded.
They're just in that 2nd group of team runs and I think there is a good explanation for what kept them out of that first tier.
1. Their superstar wasn't quite good enough.
2. Pop wasn't far along enough in his coaching. If he used the offensive strategies he was using in 07 for 04-06 they would better off yet alone teens.
3. I've often wondered about how much Bowen placed a ceiling their offense.

You put it very succinctly. But this is correct.

there isn't much of a difference between below average to good and average to great

Re: 2021-22 NBA Season Discussion
An incredibly fun NBA season, ended perfectly (I'm a bit biased)
Have to think about it some more, but I still think Phoenix vs Dallas game 7 is still a top 5 moment of the season for me
Guys were chomping at the bit for the CP3 vs Steph referendum but Luka had other plans

Happiest I've been for a player since Dirk in 2011. Anyone with a brain knew curry didn't have anything to prove but he shut up a lot of idiots tonight.

Another player who deserves his flowers GPII is a menace man. Prolly a better defender than his pops and that's saying a lot. Funny how they got a few guys with NBA dads. Tops +- on the night and a great performance in these finals coming off a gruesome injury.

I for sure thought he was done for the year after that injury. He came back looking as good as new

You ain't lying how big of a problem Prop 13 is.
The creation of the Proposition system in California may well be what ends up crippling the state's well-being.
It is a crippling problem. I've lived in SF ten years. This is the third time I'm face with having to completely rebuild my social circle due to people moving away for affordability issues. It is the main reason I returned to realgm: too much free time. It is why I've decided to just get out. I gave money to YIMBY cause and volunteered but it ain't gonna be fixed in time for me.
For those that aren't Californians, Prop 13 per wiki:
at their 1976 value and restricted annual increases of assessed value to an inflation factor, not to exceed 2% per year. It prohibits reassessment of a new base year value except in cases of (a) change in ownership, or (b) completion of new construction. These rules apply equally to all real estate, residential and commercial—whether owned by individuals or corporations.
CA home values are sky-rocketing. If Prop 13 didn't exist, incumbent homeowners would support new housing because they couldn't afford to stay in their current homes. But because of Prop 13., they block new developments and enjoy sky-rocketing net worths that aren't taxed. It has a ton of other problems.
Living in the bay area, I'm surrounded by productive companies and so much of the economic surplus goes to people who bought their homes in 1971 rather than people with working class jobs like barbers or dental assistants. Those people have to commute 2 hours to even take part in the local economy.
So sad. LA should have passed NYC as the global capital of everything decades ago. SF should be on par with London. Instead both cities fight to maintain yesteryear's architecture.

Woohoo Draymond, hell of a game from him.
Who woulda guessed that winning the turnover battle would ever propel GS to victory.

I find GPII fascinating. So many second generation NBA players want to be stars. Look at Doc's kid. Doc was a great role player who provided a lot more value than many of the "stars" of his era. His run rather than emulate his Dad tries to be a fifth rate Kobe and is terrible as a result. Jerami Grant ignores his accomplished Uncle.
GPII was the son of a HOFer but to his credit recognized that wasn't in the cards for him and built a game that will allow him to be a key contributor for years. I have a lot of respect for him as a professional.
Really this entire Warriors roster. I get annoyed with the overrateing of Wiggins, but even him I'll give credit for figuring out how to turn his career around.
