Against a legend level D with the DPOY as his personal mark. Unreal.

I think the Celtics "Legendary" defense is overstated, but Curry's great. His shooting is amazing.

Didn't look overrated against KD/Kyrie, Giannis or the entire NBA from January on. Superlatives aside, it was an objectively incredible defense and the reason why they made it as far as they did.

They won both those series 4-3, so it's not like it was some all-time great defense. Jimmy Butler averaged 25.6 points against them. Giannis average 33.9.

The Nets were mess all season.

100%. we all knew how this series would play out after game 4. No need to watch games 5-6 at all. The level of play in the finals was so bad to watch with all the turnovers and flopping from both teams. Least interesting finals and playoffs since I’ve been following the NBA.

I get why neutrals didn't find it that great. It was by far the two best defensive teams going at each other, so it was always going to be a slugfest.

Dray gettin 12/8/8 in a Finals game saying “I didn’t learn anything about myself” is the ultimate middle finger

Well, it is a good thing for Curry because Curry would not have won any championships in Minnesota due to their awful management

On far, far lower efficiency. That's the difference. And KD was only a mess against this defense. One of the lowest efficiency series of his career.

Blame that on terrible management on the Wolves or Garnett, Love, and Wiggins would all have stayed and tried to win a championship in Minnesota

That’s the Celtics strategy though. We didn’t double those guys so the rest of the players wouldn’t go off.

Giannis was gassed by game 6-7.

Butler was the same.

The problem with doing it against Curry is that he’s fitter and can beat you from 3. It seemed to work early in the series as he was getting gassed by the 4th quarter.

Stop writing out averages like they mean anything without context. Giannis shot 52% for the series, dude was awful offensively when he wasn't dunking or laying it up. Giannis and KD both got locked up, but you'd think only 1 was because the other is likeable.

My Warriors in 6 pick was spot on.

They were the better team and to me it was obvious.

Boston is an elite defensive team, but very challenged offensively. Neither Milwaukee or Miami had a reliable offense to challenge them. Defense can only take you so far. You need guys who can step up and score consistently.

Boston is still really young though. They will get better. And they need to add some bench players for sure.

Ok let’s chill Giannis is a baller and so is Durant. Boston was able to still beat them short handed which is still an accievement. Miami was never that good honestly but I respect Jimmy.

GS was straight up a better team with Steph who is a good distance better than Tatum. The rest of the team was far less coherent than GS as well.

How is that even a debate?

Kerr was the architect of the Golden State dynasty. He started Draymond, unlocked Curry, set up the whole system.

They were a first round exit before he got there.

There is no other coach in the modern era close to him. Poppovich to me is from the previous era.

Dunks and layups are what Giannis does. Did you expect him to be great from three?

What about Butler? The Celtics only won by 4 points in game 7. Miami almost beat them with Butler, Bam and a group of old or undrafted players (I think Herro got hurt?).

Butler wasn't locked defensively overall (because he had some big lows), the other two were.
