I'd just continue our course

Our biggest move of the year will be who we draft at #1. I would take Chet but I'm expecting it to be Jabari.

Than the next move is what we will do at the 2 guard. But it could be as simple as resign Gary Harris which is what I would do.

Trading Ross is a given, but he has no trade value. Packaging him with the 2nds to move up sounds good but hopefully we don't have to take back bad salary.

Id let Bamba walk and sign one more big and try to resign MCW.
Keep Isaac

The more I think about the opening night roster, the more certain I am that Bamba will not be a Magician moving forward. But I still question the value of retaining Isaac. The notion that playing him increases his trade value makes no sense, as those will be lost minutes to the new rookie.

JI could see minutes at Center too. Also don't see JI needing/getting 30 mpg in the 1st few months of the season, more like 20.
Our rookie should be around 25-28 mpg, so there should be plenty to share. Okeke and Mo Wags may get squeezed out of minutes.

I love this thread too much to let it die...

*ORL renounces FA's other than Harris, Bamba allowed to walk for nothing
1) ORL trades #1 to OKC(who is enamored with Chet and knows ORL will trade it to HOU for 3 frps) for #2, #12
2) ORL trades #12 and CHI '23 frp to DET for Kelly Olynk and #5 pick. The key for DET is the added cap space that gets them Ayton.
3) ORL trades Fultz, TRoss, Hampton, #5, DEN '25 frp to UTA for D. Mitchell and NAW
4) ORL drafts Jabari Smith at #2, Roddy at #32, Nembhard at #35 (if we're averse to 3 rookies-even mature ones-trade one/resign MCW).
I think Nembhard & Roddy's maturity makes it work - both are deep bench to begin anyway- with potential to win PT
5) ORL re-signs Gary Harris for 3 years with a descending deal averaging $15m

opening night...

WCJ, Isaac
Jabari, Olynk, M. Wagner
Franz, Chuma, Roddy
Mitchell, Harris, NAW
Suggs, Anthony, Nembhard

...lots more shooting & scoring, Suggs' QB/defensive ace upside is optimized next to Mitchell. Franz/Jabari PnR upside is huge, Isaac COULD claim starting spot over WCJ if he's 100%, but both should get significant minutes at 4/5. If Suggs slows it down (as any sophomore should be expected to) and Isaac is healthy, we win 40+ games.

It seems to me like most are trying to run before we know how to walk. I have no problem running it back and going the slow cooker route vs the instant pot.

Throughout the season you could see it with your eyes but now this off-season you can feel it in your soul that we're really building a culture here: you've got the vibes from Coach Mos, the camaraderie between the players to even Jabari taking notice of it, as evidenced from his media availability. The energy is palpable.

Give me Chet plus a healthy and more relaxed Suggs and we're going to get 10 more wins, minimum. I'd be thrilled with that while anticipating how incredibly tender the final product is going to be in three to four years.
