Kuminga is a bust? He's 19!

I confused which pick came from Minny. Kuminga was a fine pick. Wiseman is the bust. I thought they'd package #2 and the Minny pick for a difference maker at the time. And just dump Wiggins as salary filler in that trade. I saw absolutely no path forward for him as a productive player lol.

And that 7th pick ended up being Jonathan Kuminga who’s still only 19 years old and could possibly be an All-Star in the future, eventually replacing Draymond Green for a smooth transition between the present and future.

Wiseman turned 21 a few months ago. Still incredibly young.

Even Joel Embiid didn't play a single game his first two seasons.

People are too quick to call players busts nowadays. We'll see how Wiseman does next season, though.

It was pretty even, actually. Let's be honest, if Wiggins leaves GSW he will go back to a nobody.

I do not care how Wiggins is on other teams, he's on the Warriors, and the Warriors won a championship with him. Stop trying to change the narrative again.  The topic is D-Lo or Wiggins/Kuminga.

We didn't just win a title with him on it. We needed him. We don't win without Wiggins, and had nobody that could replace him if he went down. Wiggins was the 2nd best player in this series.

D’lo had a good year and the wolves went from the cellar to the playoffs kiddo. You’re projecting with Kuminga, odds are he ends up as a meh role player.

Minnesota largely overhauled their front office leadership two weeks ago and are largely secretive. Could they trade D’Angelo Russell? Sure, but any rumours are pretty obviously baseless.

I am shocked at the poll. Even at the time, i would have figured that people would consider the minnesota pick to more than make up the difference in value between wiggins/dlo

I wouldn't disqualify it as baseless. You'd have to think that the people announcing that a player is being shopped are the people receiving the calls, not the ones making them. Announcing a general "We're shopping X player" would likely drive down market value.. now if they were trying to pit teams against one another, then I'd think it was sourced from MIN, in order to convince others to get their best offers in

If I'm remembering correctly it was to make room for DeAndre Jordan somehow? I forget the details but DJ was definitely involved.

This aged perfectly and shows why some posters on this board are fools and give up on players far too early.

They got a lightly protected First-Round Draft Pick out of it.

Issue is that I haven’t seen any serious rumours surrounding D’ Angelo Russell being shopped, though. This coincides with the fact that Minnesota functionally did not have a front office set in place until Tim Connelly brought in some staff.

As I said, he could be traded depending on what Tim Connelly decides, but anything up until this point has effectively been speculation. I say this as someone who would prefer moving D’Angelo Russell (if the price is right), it really just doesn’t add up timeline wise that rumours would exist.
