Dyson Daniels likely got a promise. Draft prospects are dodging the Kings like crazy this year. Sochan is the only lotto prospects to have worked out for Kings out of the green room invites.

Also Ivey is dodging the Kangs at an epic level:

Kings are just a brutal org at this point, drafting Mitchell at 9 when they already had Fox/Hali only to trade Hali for Sabonis (why?), and now looking at guys like Daniels and Ivey.

no strategy, no long term game plan, no idea how to build an effective roster in today's NBA. they need to clean house and bring in someone that knows wtf they are doing. tired of seeing SacTown get clowned on.

Lol that Ivey quote is pretty much worse than if he flat out said he didn't want to go there. It's like dude has pity on their trash franchise.

I believe Jabari Smith to be a 5. He plays the way so many people want a modern 5 to be able to play but doesn't have the absolutely ideal height/length for people to project him there. Look at this clip against Tari Eason of LSU at the :43 second mark. Eason displays the ball handling of an NBA small forward after Jabari looks like a center not playing within himself.

Prospects dodging the Kings happens every year. Honestly I don't think it is warranted at this point, but I get it for all the guards wondering what their role is with both Fox and Davion on the team.

It’s completely warranted. They dumped Hali after a year and a half. Nobody should want to go there.

Kings have an eternal devotion to Fox.

Better than Fox? Traded away.

Same position as Fox? Play out of position.

Any young guard like Ivey being drafted by Kings is gonna get ruined playing SG alongside of Fox.

I literally don't get how that franchise has been held hostage by Fox. Fox is not a horrendous player, but he is the kind of semi-star that leads your franchise into perma-lotto-treadmill.

Gonna make a truthful claim that will get a lot of hate. De'Aaron Fox is basically the Christian Wood of point guards with less locker room disruption. Kings would be better off trading Fox away for a late first round pick.

That would have been the better move Before trading Haliburton. They are stuck. The real problem is that they ignore the small forward position.

it's not easy finding pivot starters

problem is the Kings FO has an extremely shot attention span, there doesn't seem to be a cohesive gameplan to their team building. like you had a Fox/Hali backcourt set, then you decide to draft a 23 year old 6ft rookie PG 9th overall? only to trade Hali 1.5 yrs in and then now ur thinking about drafting another guard 4th overall?

the only thing that makes sense to me is they want to 'win now', trading for Sabonis and drafting a 23 yr old rookie in Mitchell...makes me think they'll draft Keegan Murray 4th overall...but if they take Ivey or another guard then they really have no gameplan whatsoever.

I think Keegan is the pick. I think the pick is still being shopped but it will need to be a really good deal because I think we really want Keegan and if we move back I don't think he makes it past Detroit.

agreed, that's the only pick that makes sense based on the moves the Kings have been making lately. trading away Hali for Sabanis and drafting a 'ready now' player in Davion, no way they go with a raw player like Daniels imo.

but it's the Kings and just when I think they have a gameplan they do the opposite.

I hope so. I want to see that arena at sub 25% capacity. We got close a few times this last season. I think only then will the NBA step in and force that monster Vivek Ranadive to sell the team.

The annoying thing is that a Davion/Ivey pairing would be a very neat fit. And both fit with Sabonis.

Flip Fox for JI+Fultz. Or try get John Collins with him. They'd never take that risk though.
