Can't wait for JT to laugh it up with him before/after we play them next season and reminisce on how funny it was when Draymond tried to rip his injured shoulder off.

C’mon lol, this is nothing

That’s what Draymond does lol, it’s his second best ability.

As far as the rest, that’s just how the nba is now. I get why it bothers some people, I just don’t really care about the friends thing.

Should have been taking 10+ a game.

I wish we had this JT in the Finals. Look at some of those finishes inside

My best guess is that it wasn’t directly the shoulder or fatigue, but a combination of both. The shoulder kept him from being able to go strong, which would have been fine, except he didn’t have the burst to finish around guys before they could recover. And obviously some foul fishing, as well.

It’s funny that people actually think dude was really intentionally playing soft against the warriors, when he was doing stuff below a month earlier. Since the bubble he’s played by far the most minutes in the league, with Mikal Bridges 2nd and Jokic 3rd, Tatum is 500 minutes ahead of Mikal, and almost 1,000 ahead on Jokic. It’s why I am so in favor of Beal, we are far too dependent on Tatum having to play a ton of minutes.

Jayson Tatum will be much better in next year’s NBA Finals. For the record, I thought he was pretty good in this year’s NBA Finals.

Can't even get to 5,000 minutes. SOFT! Should be prepping for Summer League Games as we speak, but no, he's probably on some beach relaxing.

Not sure what the stats say, but I thought he was finishing quite well the entire regular season. But fatigue, attention and size of the defenders in the playoffs affected him greatly.

That's true, for me the worst was vs GSW cause they didn't have any size. Still no idea how he shot .370-.380 from the field with Curry defending him a lots of the times. First 3 games, 3 wasn't going in either or at least not the 3s he made in the previous series.
Good assessment:

Yes or No...

Should Tatum continue to "bulk up" this offseason???

In one hand it improved his finishing (until the finals)

the other "may" (no proof) result in less effective 3 point shooting.

speak now or forever hold your peace!!

I don’t think he really needs to bulk up much more, but not because of the shooting. He shot over 38% from three on extremely high volume from December 1st until the end of the finals. It was just more inconsistent than in the past, but it wasn’t related to the bulking up IMO.

What he needs to do is rest, and then work on repeating his mechanics on the three ball.

Also keep working on his conditioning if Ime still plans on playing him heavy minutes and giving him that much responsibility.

Cs in the bottom of distance travelled on the court and speed for both reg season and playoffs. Imagine if we asked JT to run around as Curry does and if we didn't have a switching defense that doesn't require players to move a ton.

JB has lesser load but I am more confident with him having enough in the tank physically at the end of games. Might be one of the most well-conditioned athletes in the league.

I think this past two years has been an extreme case, so I’m not overtly concerned about his conditioning going forward. That said, no downside to getting it even better lol. Nevermind the workload, Jaylen plays a lot less minutes than Tatum as well. I know injuries and all that, but Tatum has played over 1,000 more nba minutes than Jaylen since the bubble.

You’re correct about us moving less, but it still adds up. For a bigger guy, with his workload, this is insane.

Yep. Ime still needs to find a happy medium between maximizing Tatum and not overexerting him. Having KD and Beal will help a bit.

That number is up there more cos of his minutes than the Cs style of play, which could change if we want more offball movement.
