How is this not extortion, I'm serious. The offer on the table is/was a solid offer, but he is going to force Ted to Super Max him and pay him 40+ Million per year on his decline in years 4 & 5 just because he can? F that man.

Because extortion involves intimidation or a threat of violence.

It's not extortion to take advantage of the stupidity of bad management.

Damn alotta hate for the guy.
Would you guys entertain the idea of FVV + birch + flynn+ 1-2 future first for Beal? I would much rather pay beal the max than FVV and y'all can get rid of his contract for FVV or treat it as an expiring
Raptors defenders could make beal excel in his role in getting our offence

Scottie
Beal/Gary Trent jr
OG
Pascal
Precious

This looks like a deadly team for raptors

He declined his option. Big shocker. Now, since there are very few names out there on the FA market, let the BS S&T deals begin from the fans trying to fleece us.

This isn't really news. He declined his option. Everyone saw it coming. Now he re-signs for the supermax. If he doesn't, it will be shocking, but then at least Ted will be forced to go full rebuild or mostly rebuild ala the Nats.

How much of an appetite do you think most fans would have for a full or mostly rebuild? At least with the Nationals they won a world series within the last few years which I would think has bought them some goodwill and patience from the fans.

Ted will never rebuild and the Nats and Ted and Mark Lerner won't go full rebuild either. It's irrelevant because Beal is staying for the money. So they likely will be a decent 8-10th seed team in the East assuming Beal and Porzingis play most of the games.

I’m done with Brad Beal and it’s time for this franchise to cut its losses and move on from that era.

So he declined his option which if he's staying we all knew he would do. This just mean more than likely he will get the max if he wanted out the best option would be to pick up the PO and request a trade. It makes little sense for him to decline if he wants out. Super max here we come.
