You’re kidding right?

The most accurate predictor out there? What in the world. These lines fluctuate like crazy in huge ways.

Edit: Vegas is great at spreads and money lines. I just think for this, it’s more reactionary from $ bet than inside info especially w/ our FO.

100% serious. I could wade through pages and pages of opinions, some of which are ill-informed, emotion-fuelled, based off old info, whatever, OR i could just check 1 data point, the odds, the get a perfect snapshot of where things currently lie. Because i guarantee you that within seconds of any actual information being available, the odds have accounted for it and they rpice changes. These odds makers literally lose money if they dont get it right, so yeah, its the most accurate, most efficient, most invested in getting it correct, it digs past all the clickbait hype garbage and tells me in one number what the lie of the land is.

And it has nothing to do with me wanting to gamble, its just a useful mathematical tool.

Enjoy digging through 100+ pages on realGM and reading countless opinion pieces, ill just check the data.

you are 100% right.

You can find some value bets but it's very difficult (otherwise I would be a professional sports bettor...and many more people too)

Same here my dude... i dont even know who to believe anymore with these "sources"
Facts, it's becoming a bit much....this report says such and such.....people run with it, start jumping for joy or out of a window.....then shortly after another report comes out refuting what was said earlier......"this guy work out for orlando"...."wait a minute he didn't work out for orlando"....at this point its just too noisy if that makes any sense

Oh it does make perfectly good sense. That's why all i keep in mind is that WE have the #1 pick and our FO did theie due diligence and thus will make the best choice for us. The fact that we are an org that does not leak anything means that all these smokes are from people not within our org and thus, taken with a grain of salt.

Haven't been on here for a minute. Going with Chet. If he doesn't bust, the possibilities are skyhigh. But I'd be happy with any of the PFs.

All have potential problems
Chet's unknowns - him not having any real comparisons and his frame.
Jabari's ceiling - when you list out his strengths you have to admit the guy screams high quality role player
Paolo's defense - Could be targeted in the future and a bit of a black hole in the nba imo

But these concerns might be laughable in the future. Just got to wait and see. Can't wait until draft day

We need Jabari because he is a terrorizing perimeter defensive player. Perfect missing piece.

Jabari’s switchability on defense for his size may be similar to Scottie Barnes’ last year.

A lineup with Jabari at the 4 will really give us a very versatile frontcourt. I think it has the potential to be very disruptive. Hopefully Jabari becomes the missing go-to guy we need.

Between him and Chet, Jabari has more potential to become a Scorer, a skill that is very vital to have if you want to be a star in the NBA.

The missing piece has always been a true #1 scoring option. Finding enough guys to cobble together a top 15 defense isn't hard, finding a build around weapon on offense is. What makes Jabari special to me is his potential as a scorer. His defense is icing on the cake.

If you want the special potential of a scorer then i think you want PB. Jabari's sepcial potential is to be the best shooter of his class. His defense is what makes him a high-end 3&D type of player.

Jabari is very good defender but he is not special. Special defender is Isaac, great defender is Aaron Gordon. Smith is not on their level.
Jabari is below average scorer. He is a great shooter but not a scorer. His understanding of the game make me miss AG which is telling a lot becouse i was big AG sceptic.
If we draft JSjr i will be more pissed then when we drafted Bamba.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

"I will be mad at a pick because of my preconceived notions of how they will play" is what got people in trouble with Franz last year, got people to dismiss Barnes last year, got people saying Mobley was a bust in Summer League, etc. I mean, people can fan how they want, but I'm not putting any real stock into what I've seen so far because if it was easy to predict how guys fare in the next level, then people would be 100% in scouting and be working for NBA teams. All I have is a basic understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, but I'm not going to pretend to know what will improve or not, and how they will fare as NBA players and how their careers will go.

This goes for any of the prospects. Let them make mistakes and play and see how they turn out to be in the pros. It's never copy + paste because situations are different and people improve in ways you don't expect.

JS is a good defender in college. He "could" be great or just mediocre in the NBA, that we will know when he has NBA games under his belt. Only then can we know if he is on their level or not.

But yeah, JS to me is probably the best shooter of his class but not the best scorer.

Why does everyone rank MPJ so high? I've seen nothing to suggest that he is this GREAT player that one's talk about.
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)

Return to Orlando Magic
