At least two of those guys should still be around at #53 and you can typically buy a pick in the late 30's or 40's for cash.

It's easier to get a proven shooter via one of the trade exceptions or the MLE. For example, Danny Green is reportedly on the block (38% for three last year), or Jae Crowder.

Agree, should be value with the bigs. I like Koloko or J. Williams early in the second round but they seem likely to be gone if they can't move up. Butler has some weird warts (super low FT%, FTA, etc) but super long, defensively versatile with a chance to shoot the three is pretty much where the league is these days.

At 53 I'm taking Jaylin Williams, Vince Williams, Keon Ellis. Surely one is there. Keon Ellis is a two way wing and he has that BDE too. Imagine if this team finally drafted someone who understood what a cut to the basket is. He'll go undrafted and sign with the Heat and be a 28 minute/g player in the playoffs.

Tari Eason is going to have a better NBA career than Jabari Smith and Paolo Banchero.

AJ Griffin is just a worse Aaron Nesmith. How is he mocked higher than Christian Braun, who is more athletic and better at every aspect of the game? Unfortunate the Celtics do no have a late first, if Braun is there that's an easy draft.

Glad to see I'm not alone on the Vince Williams train. Top 7 rotation for a playoff team is very high bar to clear though. Especially for a lower pick that's not going to get force fed minutes from day 1 to accelerate his development.

I'm not sold on Jabari Smith either. I haven't seen a ton from him admittedlyt but what I've seen is just a bunch of tough shots (or some pull up threes in transition). Power to him for hitting those but I worry about guys that can't create separation in college. It doesn't seem like he did much playmaking either. I honestly feel like I'm watching a 6'10 3&D guy and not a number one draft pick. I know way less than the NBA front office so I must be missing something and I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Smith’s going to be a top flight scorer. Has everything to score 20 ppg+ in nba. Is he Tatum? No idea.

That said, for Celtics ear 53? Take a stash.

Then, since there are only 5 more picks, go get an UDFA like Tyrese Martin, Gillespie and 3 and D type players.

Stupid to take a guy at 53 that you have ti sign now. Take a mader/begarin euro. Then keep the roster spot open for an Udfa.

Back in the Dalen Terry range possibly. High for some of the other guys I've been looking at though.

I bet they like his defense and switchability.

Brad stayed sober and kept his camera handy at the annual league executive retreat.

He’s going to move up from #53 to #28 and take a lotto pick.

Oh man, this would be sick. Eason is a beast. Top 10 player in this draft IMO.

Projected to go in the 13-21 range so we'd need to trade up into that range..

I think one of the things Brad probably likes about eason is he is a great fit at the 4 spot. We all know the core 4 is smart, jaylen, tatum and rob. we know that Udoka prefers tatum playing at the 3. We know al is getting old. We know grant is likely best as a solid bench player rather than a starter at the 4. What is our long term answer as a starter at the 4?

It could be Tari Eason. And he could be perfect for what we need. He would need some time to develop, but eventually he could absolutely be a legit 3rd scorer on a contender while also playing borderline all-NBA level defense. High motor, plays very tenacious/aggressive, really good at getting to the rim, strong finisher, strong dude physically, can hit the 3.

You keep Al to start next season at the 4. Bring Eason off the bench. Then the following season Al is too old to start and Eason is ready to start by then..

LOL, you aren't getting Eason with the 28th pick. What would the Celtics be willing to give for #28, and who would they take if they had it? That rumor makes no sense.

Pick in the late lottery would cost Marcus Smart or Rob Williams.

Charlotte would give up the 15th pick to move salary I believe. Plumlee? Oubre? PJ Washington?

Good call - I did hear that Charlotte is trying to move 1 of their 2 first round picks (13 and 15). That 13-15 range is right where we could probably draft Eason..

No team is giving up a 1st for Nesmith lol

Boston would have to add future draft assets I'm assuming.

Theis, Nesmith, Pritchard and 53 for Terry R, Plumlee and 15.

I’m sure he’d be happy playing 17 mins/game off the bench

That's a great basketball deal if the Celtics could get it

Pick 15 from Charlotte. Obtainable by freeing salary for them (TPE)
Oubre and 15(Eason) for TPE
