I said there was a good chance the Nets would implode due to Kyrie. Here we are.

Why should Durant spend his remaining elite years on a Brooklyn team without Kyrie,
when even if plays extremely well all anyone is going to say in the end is that he never won anything in Brooklyn.

Until fans stop emphasizing ring count to such a ridiculous extent, expect future superstars to follow this example.

KD has no chance in hell of winning a championship with Kyrie. This is not about "winning a championship"; this is about sticking up for a friend. Which is cool of KD...but I'd like to think that the Nets are smarter than this. And if not...good! It'll be nice having local companionship at the bottom rung of the NBA rankings!

Nets franchise signed up for this the moment they said getting KD and Kyrie was a good idea.

I imagine the point would be for them to join up together? From the perspective of the typical destinations - LAC, LAL, Miami, none of them have anything to offer.

I think Portland could make some sense.. They have cap space and Lillard? Could clear more space by renouncing free agents and have 7 + future 1sts to include in a deal?

Obviously Sac would give up anything not named Sabonis in an effort to get those 3 together. #4 + Fox + future 1st to get Durant, then a S&T Barnes + Holmes to get Irving. Not sure Durant/Kyrie would ever agree to come here, but these 3 should be able to contend. Brooklyn becomes the Kings + Simmons/Curry. Not sure that's ideal, but it may be better than starting from scratch with future picks outgoing?

I've been trying so hard to keep an open mind about Irving but seriously just **** this.

He **** over a year of his beffie's contending window with his antics throughout the season, holds practices after the coach's practices, declares he'll sit down with the POBO and owner to make decisions for the team, now uses beffie again to hold the team hostage.

If KD's down for it he has to open his eyes here. He's being used by a player who has always looked out for his own interests above all else. But if KD's down for this anyway, he's part of the problem and Nets have to take control of who's running the ship. It's already been a cluster **** and going by Irving's words rather than his actions is a disaster in the waiting.

Perhaps this is just posturing from Irving as there's some speculation that Nets brass isn't going all in on re-signing Irving with KD's blessing. If they're such great friends business shouldn't get in the way of it. Friendship shouldn't be used by one player to use another. KD's put up with way more than enough and has had to shoulder more than his share because of it.

KD is 34 and has missed 1/3 of the season each of the last 2 years. It blows my mind that Celtics fans are willing to part with Jaylen Brown so easily.

They didn't foresee happened what did with Kyrie and James Harden wanting out. The problem child has been Kyrie. He's the primary reason why James wanted out. When the three of them played together they had a 13-3 record.

Jaylen Brown can't even dribble that well.

You snap trade him for KD, ainec. KD is a literal game changer.

This is nothing but KD and Kyrie being drama queens.

They have had all the power the last few years and don't want to give it up.

What leverage do they have exactly?

Kyrie will be forced to take the short term extension. Neither LA team can sign him outright. Knicks will struggle to clear the cap space and even if they do, hard to see them offering him a 4 year deal.

And even if Kyrie leaves. What leverage does KD have? Hes on the hook for 4 years.

Dude can either shut up and play with Simmons. Or then what? Sit out? Destroy the little reputation he has left?

Is he prepared to become the next Ben Simmons and sit out the whole year? I doubt it.

Marks/Tsai cannot screw this up and keep giving Kyrie/KD what they want.

This is the best situation they will ever get. Kyrie's next team won't put up with his same shenanigans anymore. Even if KD is traded he will likely become a 2nd fiddle wherever he goes.

I would hate having to part with JB. But I think Durant puts us over the top next season, so imo it's worth it. Anyone can get injured and KD seems to be healthy right now and going into next year. I would not trade Jaylen for very many players but KD is one of them. And it doesn't HAVE to be Jaylen getting traded anyway, there are other ways to get it done.

They wouldn’t it would likely be Horford and a bunch of picks. Nets have zero power if Kyrie walks and KD wants out.
