The scenario I'd love to see tomorrow would be to use the team's 4 picks along with Beasley and/or Reid to end up with with 3 picks that result in one playmaker (Williams/Washington/Wesley), one forward (Eason/Liddell), and one center (Kessler/Kamagate/Koloko).

I’d love to take a flier on Kai Sotto in the 2nd round. It may convince my wife to let me go to more games next year….with her obviously.

I've read a few reports that MIN is trying to trade up in the first round and have had discussions with CLE about #14. That would put us close to the range for Mark Williams but most likely not high enough. I personally have Williams and Duren in my top 7 of the draft.

Using Tankathon, and assuming we keep all four (4) picks which is unlikely, these would be my picks:

19. PG/SG Dalen Terry
40. PF Jaylin Williams
48. C Khalifa Diop
50. JD Davison

I highly doubt either of them go top 7.

I get the intrigue with Duren, not so much Mark Williams.

If we are trading up I hope it is for a different Williams.

It feels more likely than it did 2 weeks ago. All the talk about Capela and Gobert and now trading up makes me wonder if they're looking at Mark Williams.

One of the NBA talking heads wasn't real excited about the Wolves pairing KAT with Mark Williams - particularly in playoff series' - due to him saying KAT isn't exactly someone you can play switch coverages with, and projecting Williams as also being someone you would have difficulty playing in switch coverages. Having two guys like that is something an opposing team can take advantage of. I haven't spent enough time studying film to know whether or not this is a legit concern. It seems like Duke mainly had Williams protecting the paint on defense and rim running on offense. Williams is very athletic, fit, and his measurables are 242 pounds, 7'-2" height with a 9'-9" standing reach. Seems like someone that Finch could scheme into the defense to give the other team trouble.

You’d be drafting Williams as more of a regular season player. Bigs like Williams will generally get played off the floor in a playoff series. It’s why they’re so devalued right now. It’s hard for Utah to keep the best defensive player of this era (Gobert) on the floor during a playoff series.

That’s why you want your big to be able to switch onto the perimeter if you’re going to draft them high or pay them a lot. Williams I just don’t see it. Duren I’m not sure. Does he have quick enough feet? Bam-lite? Robert Williams?

Projected 2nd round pick who are:

1) combo forwards
2) can rebound
3) can shoot

Jabari Walker and Justin Lewis?

Neither will go in the Top 7...just my personal preference.

I would love to draft John Butler and stash him in the G League for a year. With development, could be another McDaniels.

Perhaps in some cases. We did just see a playoff series where Memphis beat us with Steven Adams sitting on the bench and their more agile bigs having larger roles (Clarke, Tillman, Jackson Jr.). I'm sure we could find other examples of series where one team went big to win a series. It is all about creating a mismatch against an opponent you are seeing at least 4 games in a row.

Ousmane Dieng I think is the target ... Call me crazy, and as much as I want a big, I think it's Dieng in a trade up. Why you ask? Kat is tweeting about Paris.... reading the tea leaves people...

Our need is rebounding for sure but can’t expect the 19th pick to help till 3-7 years down the line? I guess Connelly is trading for rebounding help then.

That would be excellent. If they could somehow turn Beasley, Reid, and all the draft picks into Kessler, Eason, and Jalen Williams, I'd consider that a big W. Feeling like both Eason and Jalen Williams are going to get snatched up in the 6 or so picks before 19 though.

Gut feeling: A couple of guys high on our board tomorrow night will be Liddell and Kessler.

A guy who is an elite shot blocker and good rebounder is nothing to turn up your nose at.

I’d be okay with them (kessler and liddell) at 40.

I think he is a mid 2nd guy.
