I would be very surprised if Thybulle is here the opening night.

My initial thought as well. At least I sure as hell hope that's the case.

Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
Thybulle did have a true shooting percentage just under 60% and his numbers as a starter over 50 games were pretty good.
The availability issue during the playoffs was a problem and if they aren't comfortable with a plan to extend him, they should definitely be gauging his market. He has value as an NBA rotation player, which I think is sometimes lost amongst the fanbase.

Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
Through 25 playoff games, he's shooting 30.8% from three and 37.5% from the free throw line. He's just unplayable. You can't have someone this talentless in your playoff rotation. And he's shown that he does not have the work ethic to make any improvement to his game. Move him for draft capital and an expiring contract.

Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
The only silver lining for Matisse is that his FT shooting last year was better. But still that’s on very limited attempts and probably just randomness. The problem is that he can’t shoot and his bball IQ is painfully low.

I hate to give up on him and I hate it even more if all we're doing is trying to sign PJ Tucker who is 37 years old. If we are going to move him, then that's fine, but we can do better then PJ Tucker.

Who gives a **** about efficiency when it's not attached to any production? It was on 6 ppg as a starter.

Hopefully he gets traded today - he was one of my favorite players but I want him off the team. He put the team's chances of winning in jeopardy because he thinks he knows more about science than scientists. He is a low IQ idiot that does not care about the team.

I want him off the team because he's a one-way player who is even overrated on that one end and who has shown little to no improvement in his offensive game or basketball IQ.
His choices with regard to foreign substances put in his body are his own personal choice, as they should be, not those of "scientists" or to placate butthurt fans. No one should ever be put in that position, be it in sports or for any job.

Willing to give one more chance. He’s in a contract year so he should be extremely motivated.

Do you honestly believe he will take that step as a shooter and on offense in general after four years of college and three years in the league?
I just think we would have seen signs already, and to be honest, it's more his lack of BB IQ that bothers me than just the shooting. A guy who was determined to improve would certainly have found other ways to contribute to the offense by now, but he seems a lot like Simmons, pointing to his all-defense status as evidence that what he is is good enough.

No I don't believe he will improve. However he'll never have more incentive than he does right now. Plus he does provide value even at his current level.
So trade him if we can upgrade just like Tobias. The problem is those trades aren't available.

Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
Yeah. You need to find someone that overvalues his defensive impact in a deal so that you can get a different piece in here, but it kinda seems like that would have happened last night if that team existed. I dunno.
Hard to see him figuring out the shot at this stage, but I guess there's still a chance it happens. There's also an outside chance Harden regains form to the point that it doesn't matter if you have an extra guy to throw at us defensively. Both feel more like wishes at this point.

Re: Welcome Matisse Thybulle!
I know Pompey has questionable sources but I’m curious to know what a potential trade with Portland would look like for Matisse. The big name that we’d want is Hart but I find it hard to believe he’s being shopped.
Maybe we could make a run at the Jae Crowder’s or KCP’s of the world.

I'll play JRoy here:
Portland respectfully declines - regardless of the trade proposal.
And their plan looks so solid, who can question them?
