It's Mathurin for me

6"6, 190lbs

Lives for the big moments, wants the ball in his hands, but can also play well off-ball. Smooth jumper, and his 36% from three is actually really good when you consider the shots he's having to take (late shot clock, end of games etc).

Cade needs someone who can also close out games, otherwise Cade will just get doubled. These two can both handle the moment.

KCP, Ben McLemore, Malik Beasley type of player imo also doesn't look 6'6 either.

At the combine it was discovered he is officially 6’4”. Many teams will not want to draft him top 7 as he may have to play SG instead of SF in NBA.

I like Mathurin, as he would be a good paring with Cade. Great hops for lobs, and a damn good shooter.

He is the safest of the possible picks to me, right next to Murray.

Unless they want a SG?

I’m not sure where the height/position thing makes much of a difference in his draft position. I would think that what he can/can’t do would be the determining factor.

I'm alright with Mathurin if we attempted to trade up for Ivey but were rejected so chose him. I would prefer Daniels in a non Ivey position but I can walk away happy enough with any player but Murray.

I'd rather have Murray than Mathurin he just seems like one of those dime a dozen 3&d ( or no d) SGs

He’s not. 6’4.5 without shoes on. If we want a long 2 then there are other players out there bigger than him

SG sizes don't really matter much these days. Unless you're an athletic freight train like Anthony Edwards or a strong Butler type, you can easily skate by being 6'3, 6'4, 6'5 since every team likes to have a switch heavy and twitchy type of defense anyways

That said, very few all-time greats (like top 20 all-time) are shorter than 6'6 (Curry is a notable exception in this way), so maybe if we're shooting for the moon, it should be Murray.
