75% of my joy about this trade is my 'told you so' fury at posters who thought Detroit could get the 7th for him.

I thought we'd have to include Johnson or Brown in this deal but approx what I expected

Seems like a good thing. Hope we can add another good player in the draft and or free agency.

The CJ trade has basically become Grant and Hart for CJ

Looks like I don’t have to turn in my nba fan card just yet.

I would also now think Duren is a strong possibility at 7 since that would add more size, rebounding, defense and be insurance in case of Nurkic injury.

Cronin looking pretty damn good on this deal, I bet Detroit was holding out trying to get our 7th pick but Cronin wasn't relenting.

I am fine with making moves to compete now as long as we don't sacrifice the future, if we can build a nice team of young guys that will help any rebuild once the Dame era ends.

Now just get ATL to do Bledsoe + 7 for Collins + 16 and Cronin goes from the whipping boy to our favorite porn star.

Cronin actually pulled off a good trade. BC made a good point about CJ turning into hart and grant.

Can’t wait to see what happens with the 7th and Bledsoe. A trade down with NYC for the 11th and Randle would make me happy, or perhaps taking on Hayward and getting the 15 would complete the retool while taking Sharpe for the future?

I don't want both Collins & Grant. I think they are a poor pairing.

I'd be all in on trading Grant for Collins now.... but I doubt Dame would support that move.

i think if we can get collins and maybe 1 more ball handler we can be a really versatile team that'll play "D" and have a real chance at competing . :P

Credit where it is due - Solid move for Portland. Depending on what Cronin does with pick #7, I might need to change my avatar.

Assuming it takes 7 to get Collins w/o a pick coming back (Which taking my rose colored glasses off is likely the cost), and assuming CHA truly wants to move off Hayward and will pay 15, what would most prefer:

Bledsoe + 7 for Collins

or

Bledsoe, Winslow, 46 for Hayward, 15

To me, the latter is easily my choice - keeps Grant at PF and gives us 2 picks to play with. I also like the Hayward / Grant fit more than Grant / Collins in all honesty - love the ball movement and steady, heady play that Gordon brings. Sign Kyle w/ TP MLE and your looking at a contender IMO.

I have seen that the Milwaukee pic is top four protected and does not roll over. So who gets the pic if it's top four? I know that's crazy unlikely, but I was just curious.

Bucks get to keep it if it is 1-4.

Detroit gets it if 5-30.
