(Here's a hint: As my other posts to this thread should have made clear, getting nothing would be far, far better than signing Kyrie. I.e., "getting Kyrie" was the worst case scenario....)

Interesting. Me and I know a lot of Heat fans are currently rooting for a Kyrie transaction, would think Kyrie MSG would be a draw at the very least.

I said there was a good chance the Nets would implode due to Kyrie. Here we are.

yea there were definitely a minority (myself too) who said the whole DJ, Kyrie, KD was not without risk.
there was risk because DJ was washed even back then (he's a corpse now), KD was coming off an achilles injury, and Kyrie was always a headcase.

I think the nets made the right moves to take the risk, but it's looking likely it isn't going where though had predicted.

I predicted this too, including this post in a now locked thread here:

Personally, as I've posted to these boards for sometime now, I think the Knicks may have dodged a bullet--crazy Kyrie and an injured KD may not prove as good together as they look now on paper. (I think things may go south, and fast.)

Good luck (sincerely) to the Nets, though.

I have never wanted Kyrie on the Knicks--though I would have (grudgingly) taken him too if that's what it took to get KD (prior to his 2019 Achilles tendon tear). Once KD went down again in 2019, I did not think even he was worth having to deal with Kyrie's BS.

I don't see many team's that are a great fit for him.

I think Dallas and Phx are the best suited due to having a playmaker that KD could play off

Me and a lot of Knicks fans are currently rooting for a Kyrie sign and trade max transaction that gets him to the Heat. I personally think Kyrie at the FTX Arena would be...amazing. Something centered on Butler/Herro does it. Fingers crossed!

Most teams would kill to have KD.

I know to some of you , it’s blasphemy to say to trade guys like KD. But what else do the Nets have to see that the marriage is not going to work out ? Kyrie and KD are both in their 30s . Why not see what you can get for them ? Its not like both these guys have won you anything. Start over Brooklyn.

Yes but what im saying is the suitable fits for 34 year star isn't natural for most teams. KD is still top 3 player in the league, but I feel he needs to play off another play maker at this stage.

Imo Portland would be a really good destination for KD. They have the assets (lottery pick, future picks and expirings) and they have the roster to compete.

I doubt it. This is just adding pressure on Nets to max Kyrie.

Cheer up Brooklyn, if both Irving and Durant leave you still have your third All-Star to build your team around!!! :eek2:

This situation could turn catastrophic for Brooklyn. They gave up every single first they had for Harden, only to flip him for a disgruntled Simmons. Durant will have to return a hefty amount for Brooklyn to salvage something out of nothing.

It's close, but I still take the Warriors. Durant isn't in his prime anymore. I don't see that Celtics team matching the chemistry of the 16-18 dubs.

They may have dodged a bullet with KD-Kyrie. But then took a bullet straight on next off season by paying Randle a max contract, a long with bad deals for Evan Fournier and Derrick Rose.

That outcome was much worse.

The Knicks are still the Knicks.

KD has batman talent but keeps hiding as a robin. He needs to be leading his own damn team regardless of what happens to Kyrie. Tired of him hanging on the coattails of Westbrook, Curry, Kyrie. For his own legacy he needs to step up and lead this Nets team next season.
