Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Very few draft options would piss me off as in past years. Shepp would really have to reach on one to get me irritated. Even Mark Williams or Jalen Duren could be interesting if there's another move in the offing.
Maybe Ochai Agbaji. He's this years Kispert. He's older prospect who can shoot but offers limited utility elsewhere. His defense isn't good as advertised. I wouldn't like Malachi Branham either.
I've railed on Sharpe but at I'd at least give them credit for taking a high upside play.
I agree 100% with the last 3 of Dat's 4 paragraphs -- except of course I would never write "piss me off" in a post, & it really pisses me off that he did!
I'd be happy with a few different ways they might go.
In order of preference:
1. Trade up w/ Portland & take either Daniels or Mathurin.
2. Obviously, take either if he drops.
3. Trade down w/ SA if possible (for 20, 25 & 38) & execute my 1-day rebuild.
4. If Shaedon Sharpe is on the board, take him.
5. Trade down w/ OKC for 12 & 34 -- take Griffin (& bpa at 34)
What do I think they will do?
1. If Shaedon Sharpe is on the board, they'll take him.
2. If Sharpe is gone, they'll take AJ Griffin.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Thread - Part 2
My final thoughts:
Seems like the price is too high to move up to 4/5, so try to move up to 7 with Portland and take either Murray or Daniels if they fall.
If you stay put, Fine with Johnny Davis if Daniels and Murray and Sharpe are all gone. Also would be fine with Ousmane Dieng.
If you can move down, do it for guys like Dalen Terry, Ej Liddell, David Roddy, and Gabe Procida.
Want: Daniels
Think: trade up for Daniels with Portland.

I asked Nate to make this thread. I wanted to see who everyone wanted in one thread. Particularly I wanted to hear from Dat PIF and CCJ.

Re: 2022 Draft Poll
Since there's been a lot of digging up old draft takes recently, I thought I'd go with a slightly different format for maximum accountability - acting like a GM and committing to only one specific choice in any given scenario, rather than throwing out about a hundred names over the course of three months and then claiming that you were fully behind any that happen to pan out. I'll also leave a line item for the haters, so you can go back and claim credit for being correctly skeptical of some future bust.
I'd encourage any of you that are so inclined to follow along, I'm sure it'll be great fun to look back on at some point. For draft position, I'm using the most recent (and presumably final) NBA mock draft, and would encourage you do the same, just to keep the frame of reference relatively constant. Feel free to wiggle around by ~1-2 pick positions for the later selections. Link here: https://archive.ph/ddvJo
Scenario: Trade up to pick #7
Wizards-specific pick: Dyson Daniels
Team-agnostic pick (your BPA, or just a guy in the range that you like): Dyson Daniels
Absolutely do not draft: Shaedon Sharpe
Scenario: Pick at #10
Wizards-specific pick: Johnny Davis
Team-agnostic pick: Johnny Davis
Absolutely do not draft: Tari Eason, Jeremy Sochan
Scenario: Trade down to picks ~#20 and ~#25
Wizards-specific: TyTy Washington (#20), Jake LaRavia (#25)
Team-agnostic pick: Dalen Terry (#20), Nikola Jovic (#25)
Absolutely do not draft: MarJon Beauchamp
Scenario: Second round pick at #35
Wizards-specific pick: Kendall Brown
Team-agnostic pick: Jaylin Williams
Absolutely do not draft: N/A
Scenario: Second round pick at #55 (can include potential UDFA players not listed in the mock draft)
Wizards-specific pick: Gabriele Procida
Team-agnostic pick: Jabari Walker
Absolutely do not draft: N/A

Re: 2022 Draft Poll
Hope for Jaden Ivey & Ben Mathurin.
I'd be content with Dyson Daniels or Ousmane Dieng at 10.
I'd prefer a slight trade down to pick one from the Jalen Williams, Tari Eason, Mark Williams, Johnny Davis Jeremy Sochan, AJ Griffin, Jalen Duren tier while picking up another pick to scoop up Gabriele Procida, Kennedy Chanlder, Dalen Terry, Walker Kessler or Christian Koloko
Who do i think Shepp ends up with? MarJon Beauchamp
Do not drafts:
Shaedon Sharpe
Ochai Agbaji
Malaki Branham
Jaden Hardy
Late 1st values/2nd round steals:
Gabriele Procida
Kennedy Chandler
Walker Kessler
Jake LaRavia
Kendall Brown
Christian Koloko
Andew Nembhard
Jaylin Williams
David Roddy
Keon Ellis
Deep 2nd/undrafted options
Vince Williams Jr
Orlando Robinson
Jordan Hall
Julian Champagnie
James Akinjo
I'd be content with Dyson Daniels or Ousmane Dieng at 10.

I think you're right, most mocks zombie pick Duren to the Spurs, Davis will be nabbed right before us.

Re: 2022 Draft Poll
Odds are Tommy will trade the pick. The question is how...these would be my preferences:
1) The Ivey big swing (provided he's there at #4): WAS trade #10+Kuzma+Rui to SAC for #4+Holmes+Harkless. This is then followed by trading Gafford to CHA for #15 (where we select Eason or Liddell).
2) The trade up for Daniels. Simple: WAS trade #10+Kuzma to POR for #7+Bledsoe. An alternative scenario is Murray drops to #7 and we select him.
However, Tommy most likely trades down, and in order of least painful:
1) The Scary Terry to DC. WAS trade #10+Gafford+Kuzma for Rozier+#13 (pick Mark Williams)+#15 (pick Eason or Liddell).
2) The Morris Wes' teachers pet. WAS trade #10+KCP (or Kuzma) for Morris+#21 (pick Liddell or Tyty Washington) +#30 (pick Wesley, Procida, Nembhard, Koloko...etc.).
3) The give Coby another chance. WAS trade #10 to CHI for Coby White + #18 (pick Liddell or Tyty Washington). This is followed by a Kuzma trade to PHI for #23+Thybulle+fodder. In this scenario, Tommy creates a new problem: Rui, White and Thybulle are RFAs the next season and we won't be able to afford all
Or maybe Tommy surprises and we get his special Hail Mary: WAS trades for Shai Gilgeous Alexander (SGA) in the following package:
WAS sends #10, #23, #2023 1st (fully unprotected), Deni, Thybulle +whatever fodder to OKC for SGA+#34 (while Kuzma was traded to PHI to get #23+Thybulle).

Re: 2022 Draft Poll
want - Daniels

I'm obviously staying mainstream with those picks/predictions.
Players I'm intrigued by -
Murray, Eason, Jalen Williams, Mathurin, Mark Williams, Chandler, Sochan, Sharpe, Griffin
and from lower down the list - Trevion WIlliams, Nembhard
Maybe it's recency bias but this draft looks strong from the number of players
a positive argument can be made for and how difficult it seems to differentiate
similar players.
