I used to think that  Was never one to pay much attention to who the refs were. And then the Tony Brothers screwed my Bucks at a game I was at and I put it together. Bastard

I don't know if that is so Stupid on boggling, but I was hearing Tony Brothers this, Tony Brothers that, Tony Brothers will ref tonight etc. For the longest time I thought there were two brothers. I was watching one game and I saw actual Tony Brothers being introduced, and it blew my mind.

What did you think about Demarcus Cousins though?

This is kind of on topic, but a girl I knew back in high school wondered why a running back during an NFL game wasn't ever called for traveling.

“Kyrie Irving is the most skilled player of all time.”

Or

“Kyrie Irving is a top 5 player in games that matter.”

For me anything to do with a player winning a game or a ring (instead of a team winning it).
But because about half of NBA fans do it I've stopped reacting and I just ignore it.

2nd more baffling is using +/- as a player stat and saying things like "he was +25". Also extremely common, also I ignore it.

Exactly right. "This player beat that player" is so ridiculous, like it's a one on one game. Coaching, system, teammates, there is so much that goes into winning. But you're right, it's just taken over the narratives.

The amount of idiotic comments on NBA social media pages is astounding. These dolts make us look like NBA savants in comparison.

I remember once some dude got into an argument with me about how a Euro step is a travel. He was really convicted about it

I had a coworker actually bet me money that teams have to play all 7 games of a 7 game series even after one team has won 4 games. It was honestly baffling how confident he was lol. "Its in their contract that all games have to be played"

To his credit he eventually conceded lol

Oof. I admit to saying the same thing in the draft, and not completely giving up on that right away. I think I held MKG stock until his injuries piled up and he didn't bounce back.

I'll raise my hand on this one as well. First summer league game (yes, I know it was summer league) I saw of MKG, I thought he looked fantastic handling the ball, getting into the lane and making plays for himself and others. He just got injured a lot and was unfathomably bad at shooting the ball. It seemed he only got worse as time went on.

I had visions of Pippen as well. Turns out he couldn't come remotely close to Igoudala's level.

If this was the 1990s, he'd likely still be in the league in some defensive stopper role, but he's just one of those 4 on 5 on offense type players. Feel kind of bad for him as he seemed like a really good guy.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

Don't know if they're still doing it but back in the day nbadraft.net would put up some of the worst player-to-player comparisons you'd ever see. Keith Van Horn? Larry Bird.

Bron running off to play with Miami is somehow different to KD running off to play with GSW

"Kobe is a top 15 player all-time."
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

The most mind boggling comments come from the players themselves.. Ricky Davis basically saying Lebron was drafted to help him get the ball. Pat Bev saying "next five years are mine".

Just saw a thread earlier where a guy said Jordan was equal to Steph + Durant in impact if the 2017 Warriors & 96 Bulls matched up……
