If they somehow manage to trade for Kyrie without giving up AD and Lebron (and I really don't know how) it's a no brainer for them.

If you can get Kyrie Irving, you get Kyrie Irving. His skill-set is a perfect fit with Lebron/AD, his timeline is the same as AD, and elite talent wins.

The marginal pieces look a lot better surrounded by 3 stars. And even with all the drama, Kyrie at his best is one of the top players in the game. So if you can get him with the limited assets the Lakers have, you do it and don't think twice about it.

It's all about fit.

Irving was never a good fit with Durant because they both want to be Kobe, and there can't be two Kobes on the same team.

Irving, on the other hand, has always been a great fit with James.

The Lakers should move hell and earth to get Irving.

Lol no. Kyrie is only better at Curry at iso scoring, and even then, the difference between Kyrie's impact from his marginally better iso scoring and Curry's impact from his top 3-all time off-ball scoring more than off-sets it.

Lol those Charlotte role players (both starters) would both start on the Lakers. Good luck to the Lakers, man you guys might even be able to get Lamelo today too.

I don't see Charlotte giving up that talent for that, particularly when Rozier and Hayward both have positive value as players.

Could be wrong but I don't see them trading them for nothing but cap space Maybe Rozier and Oubre to LA for Russ and then Hayward to Indy with pick for Turner.

Reminder that Charlotte doesn't have to move anyone to have room to resign Miles, then Hayward deal comes off books before Lamelo extension.

If the Lakers can get Rozier and Hayward today and they don't, that is a championship mistake IMO, but I don't see that happening

Lakers problem is their team outside of LeBron and AD are trash. Adding an injury prone offense only PG isn't going to magically make them title favorites when they couldn't even get into the postseason

Players want to play for the Lakers.

The Lakers do not want to be irrelevant, they do not like watching the Warriors win.

If they can sign Kyrie and get all the attention and keep crushing (as Jeanine Buss refereed to him) "Ballz" Clippers hopes and dreams that is even more icing on the cake.

You don't have a ton of gas left in the LeBron tank but you run that thing into the ground as long as you can.
