What is nets waiting for? Blow up. Kyrie, durant and ben simmons top 3 of the 5 most mental guys in the league and they somehow succeeded to accumulate all in the same team.

Such a travesty for a franchise. Trade durant for a 55 protected second rounder and give him a great lesson.

Did you look at, how old these two were? Did you look at, where these team were? Did you look at, what price did they pay?

With KD you would have max 2y window to win it all and BOS won’t be GSW2017.

Why are you putting commas in independent clauses? Championships are earned and sometimes they take sacrifice in an extremely competitive conference. Boston won’t be handed trips to the Finals by only continuity. If they aren’t willing to give up prospects or picks to get better immediately that’s fine, but they shouldn’t expect that their rivals won’t do that to win. Miami, Milwaukee, Toronto, Philly, Brooklyn, and Chicago have all proven that they are willing to give up assets for win now improvements.

Do you think BOS reached the ceiling with this young group? This team was one Curry show (Game 4) away from the championship. Tatum/Brown/RW3 still have space to grow. Also they still can impove by adding role players, like proven PG with FT MLE or use TPE in trade.

Yeah, players are totally robots and they never remember that stuff.

This is the same guy that had a 3-1 lead then lost only to join the team he lost to. I highly doubt he really cares and this notion that fans were cheering specifically for his injury, well that's just misinformation. My goodness stop with the pettiness and let it go already.

I’m not a fan of pathetic franchises like the Nets but it’s pretty clear the fault lies with Kyrie and KD

I still stand by my 'Simmons will never play a game for the Nets' statement and it's looking more and more likely.

I see a 'trade me to LA or I'll have back issues all season' cry coming.

That was always the intended play. They tried the Lakers or bust card earlier.

Ok. Everybody talked about it for 13 pages already. But am i missing something? Does it say anywhere in the article that Durand said that? because all i see is an opinion piece by Woj, nothing clear. Am i wrong?

Maxey sadly.

Not even close. You'd have to add Harris in at a minimum just for salaries and the Nets don't want him.

Well... duh.

They like Harris btw and planned to spend big money on him in the summer of 2019.

It's a done deal.

You reckon it's --- Durant/Harden/Embiid vs. Lebron/Kyrie or Steph/Klay/Dray in the finals?

there was risk because DJ was washed even back then (he's a corpse now), KD was coming off an achilles injury, and Kyrie was always a headcase.

I think the nets made the right moves to take the risk, but it's looking likely it isn't going where though had predicted.

I predicted this too, including this post in a now locked thread here:

Personally, as I've posted to these boards for sometime now, I think the Knicks may have dodged a bullet--crazy Kyrie and an injured KD may not prove as good together as they look now on paper. (I think things may go south, and fast.)

Good luck (sincerely) to the Nets, though.

I have never wanted Kyrie on the Knicks--though I would have (grudgingly) taken him too if that's what it took to get KD (prior to his 2019 Achilles tendon tear). Once KD went down again in 2019, I did not think even he was worth having to deal with Kyrie's BS.

They may have dodged a bullet with KD-Kyrie. But then took a bullet straight on next off season by paying Randle a max contract, a long with bad deals for Evan Fournier and Derrick Rose.

That outcome was much worse.

The Knicks are still the Knicks.

I never wanted to pay Randle to be honest. Even before the bad playoffs I was iffy. After that terrible playoffs I wanted him gone or back at a severe discount. But yea havent had any expectations for the Knicks org for a while now. :noway:

KD really should have stayed put in GS instead of joining this Nets mess.

It was obviously in reaction to the turnover. They cheered when he went down but not because of his injury. I guess you would know better since you're all high and mighty though.

Giving up on a legitimate title contending team to rebuild is never the right move as a NBA franchise. But considering that the Nets have potentially 2 max contract guys that they can put little to no faith in come playoff time I don't think this team is a title contender anyway unless things broke incredibly favorably for them.

If the Nets cannot win a title with this core of KD + Kyrie - which I believe to be increasingly unlikely to happen - then trading KD is the way to go.

Man, I wonder what the Raptors can give Nets?

A bunch of first round picks + fillers?

Barnes is off the table. Siakam as well. Fvv would be great with KD.

So ; OG, Gary Trent + 3/4 First round picks?
