I think Millsap is waiting till the season has gone a while and will sign with whatever team is the best at that time. If this is his last year, especially, it makes sense to maximize his chances at a title.

Millsap can still be a 10th man on a team. No reason to have him be behind the likes of Royce, Bogey, Gay, Paschall and at this stage Paul is more center anyway. Just not the reunion we should go for

My eyes are on Pat Bev and Rondo. Feels like one will be waived by Memphis

Really? A pest on the perimeter something Utah is lacking and a capable playmaker as back up who is no slouch being a former champion?

Both come with pretty big personality issues as well, no reason to mess up the chemistry on the team.

Post trade deadline.

The Jazz signed D. House for the remainder of the season.
https://www.nba.com/jazz/utah-jazz-sign-danuel-house-jrthe-utah-jazz-have-signed-forward-danuel-house-jr-team-policy-terms

I agree House is likely just as good or better than any of the FA options out there. Still, there are some vet players out there that may be able to help with depth and potentially defense.

A player who was already waived, that is an athletic, hustle, 3&D type (41% this year) is DeAndre’ Bembry. Definitely a player I hope the FO has noticed. I know the team just landed NAW, but Bembry is more of a defender, and the type of player I think the rotation needs.

There also may be a few buyout options coming soon (including a few former Jazzmen). Just a few that MIGHT be available:

Dennis Schroder
Goran Dragic
Eric Bledsoe
Robin Lopez
Tristan Thompson
Gary Harris
Kent Bazemore
Kevin Knox
Rodney Hood
Paul Millsap
Derrick Favors
Gorgui Dieng

Other Free Agents of note (although some may be under contract outside of the NBA):

G:
Kris Dunn
Matt Dellavedova
James Ennis
Dante Exum
Langston Galloway
Tyler Johnson
Brandon Knight
Emmanuel Mudiay
Iman Shumpert
Jeff Teague

F:
Al-Farouq Aminu
Jared Dudley
Terrance Ferguson
Solomon Hill
Andre Roberson
Glenn Robinson III
Mike Scott
Anthony Tolliver

C:
Aron Baynes
Willie Cauley-Stein
Marc Gasol
Meyers Leonard
Thon Maker
Jahlil Okafor

I think we give Hernangomez a shot and if he doesn't make an impact release him and sign Forrest to a contract so he can play in the playoffs. But, we might wait till the offseason if that facilitates signing him to a bigger deal, not sure how the rules on that work.

https://thejnotes.com/2022/02/14/buyout-candidates-utah-jazz-target/4/

This article suggest that the top 4 buy-out players the Jazz should target are;

4. P. Millsap
3. G. Harris
2. D. Bembry
1. K. Bazemore

I'd argue that Bembry is the best option, but any of them could certainly help the Jazz depth. I just think Bembry is the closest thing to a perimeter defensive stopper (and a capable spot-up 3 point shooter), who plays with a bit of attitude.

I think Harris, as long as he's healthy, is the best option, as he's a very good defender and our back court can't defend anything.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Bembry signed with the Bucks and it looks like Harris isn't going to be bought out so things are looking pretty slim on the buyout market. I think what you see if what you get with the current roster.

Remember when this forum debated whether the Jazz should pursue Jimmy Butler, lol, how amazing would he have been on this team?

I've NEVER had an interest in Jabari for the Jazz, but I guess it's worth mentioning the Jazz are giving him a look.

Hard to believe he's only 27. No interest though, never was able to maintain reliable NBA 3 point range.

You can still score by not shooting 3s..

You think there is any of it left to mess up. I'm afraid there is none of a chemistry already. At least none of a positive chemistry.

These humiliating losses of huge leads was already a big red sign. And after all this trade talks... The only things which may be still linger are a professional attitude and personal pride of some players.

How great would it be if AK was 10 years younger and on the Jazz?
Ingles is cooked.

Don't get me wrong I like Pat Beverly and the attitude and effort he brings. But he's a player that you put with an already solid group so they can keep him in line. Otherwise his talking will put cracks in the team.

Rondo is a not worth much anymore.

Spurs just released their qualifying offer on Lonnie Walker. Think they are going for the 2023 draft lottery similar to the time they landed Duncan

He would be a great addition if we could get him for MLE
