Prediction: I don’t know what we’ll do w/the pick, but I’m thinking Eason will be available, we’ll pass, half the board will melt down, and years later, it won’t matter.

Would love to trade back with Memphis for their two 1sts, if Jovic is still available when they pick. Stick to the stash Jovic plan, and take someone else with 29.

I would say a draft and stash strategy isn’t ideal either considering the current roster as constructed. The window to compete for a title is short with DDR being under contract for 2 more years and him being 33 years old. Ideally the Bulls attempt to use this pick to improve the team with a win now approach.

Lol... classic Bulls forum. You forgot to add that someone will make a lengthy post every time Eason has a decent game.

I agree, that's why I"m not high on Dieng or Jovic. Both guys seem like they are 3-4 years away from being contributors.

Why no Kessler? Excellent rim protector with great size.

I think you can get guys like that in the 2nd round in most drafts. Has limited offensive upside. I just rather take a swing on a player who could play the wing or a big with upside on both ends of the floor (which I think Duren and to a limited extent Williams have).

I think he has high bust potential. All he did in college was score. Low assists, steal and block rate. He doesn't get to the rim. If he isn't a lights out shooter (he isn't) he'll be hard to get on the floor.

His shooting particularly 3PT has improved every year in college. He would be solid 3+D player for us IMO.

Any one of Duren, Eason, or Branham would be ideal. After that, the list falls off pretty hard. Mark Williams would make the most logical sense from a need perspective if those other three aren't available—and they likely won't be.

He was the MVP of the Final Four, wasn't he? ANd best player on a national champion. He's also very athletic, and shot something like 45% on corner 3's.

As our pick approaches, I think it’s becoming clear Liddell is our guy. Not the sexiest pick, but he will be an immediate contributor off the bench. Great versatility guarding 2-5, shoots it well, had highest standing vertical of any big men. I have seen the Grant Williams comp but he is far more athletic. He is a well rounded prospect and a solid pick at 18. His game fits in well with our current roster. Similar level of prospect to what we saw with Ayo last year.

Would prefer Mark Williams or Eason if they are still there but I doubt it.

So how are people handicapping us keeping/trading #18 right now?

I'm at 30%keep/70%trade.

If you guys are expecting Liddell to be able to effectively guard wings in this league, you're about to be horribly disappointed.

Agree to disagree. He's 22 years old. He a guard with terrible assists numbers which kind of suggests to me he has no feel for the game. However athletic he may appear, he averaged less than 1 steal per 36 and rarely got to the free throw line. Final Four MVP? So was Mateen Cleaves. BUST

I’m not sure about Liddell defense can someone elaborated. Bec he looks a bit slow footed to me, but can someone who’s more knowledgeable on Liddell let me know about his defense?

I want EJ and no, I don’t expect for him to consistently guard wings. He projects as more of a small ball 4/5. So I’m good if guarding wings isn’t a strong suit of his. As long as he can play a physical inside/out game and guard 4s while throwing a body on the 5s, that’ll be fine by me.
