Yes

this has been building as credible for a while now. I suspect he could be a backup for Knicks if Brunson falls through.

You will get them. Trades in the early-mid lotto and after are highly dependent on who is available. No need to make a trade if you don't know your guy is available or not.

I think you’re right, so a deal probably wouldn’t happen tonight. NYK would want to go through all their long shots options (#4-Ivey, Brogdan (sounds dead), and cap space/S+T for Kyrie or Brunson). I think the chance for any of these is pretty low, and you’re right, DLo may be NYK’s fallback position. Though as a MIN fan, I would hope to see a trade tonight.

Those are also the teams least likely to be willing to give up a big value piece to move up.
