Re: 2022 Draft night thread
I'll say that their options were limited if Mark Williams, Duren didn't fall, and they couldn't make anything work with Capela, Gobert, or Turner etc. They couldn't just not address the situation, we couldn't start yet another season without normal size and length in the frontcourt.

I don’t get Memphis’ draft this year at all.

Re: 2022 Draft night thread
There is huge upside on Kessler so I like the move. Jovic is as big of a risk and Liddell questionable upside, and those are the only players I really liked better.

Re: 2022 Draft night thread
I truly think there is very little difference between Kessler and Koloko/Kamagate so to pick Kessler 20+ picks before those guys might go is a reach but whatever. I guess it does fix a major hole on the team but I just don't know if I see the fit working. I would have much rather taken Roddy there and instead he goes to Memphis.

NCAA Defensive Player of the Year.
Kessler becomes only the third Atlanta Tipoff Club ‘Mr. Georgia Basketball’ to win a Naismith Award; he joins Donnell Harvey (1999) and Dwight Howard (2004), both of whom won the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy for Boys High School Player of the Year. Named SEC Defensive Player of the Year, he averaged 11.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game this season. A first-team All-SEC and All-American third team selection, his 155 blocks on the season are the most in Division I and a program single-season record. He also ranked No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 nationally in blocked shots per game (4.6 avg.) and helped lead the Tigers to their first-ever No. 1 ranking in the national polls and to an SEC regular-season championship title. Kessler led the nation in triple-doubles with two, including 15 games with five or more blocked shots. He bested Chet Holmgren (Gonzaga), Oscar Tshiebwe (Kentucky) and Mark Williams (Duke) for the honor. Kessler joins Aliyah Boston (South Carolina) as 2022 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, securing an SEC sweep for the honor

low-key intriguing I felt. Legit guard handles and jump shot at 250 lbs

There’s still free agency. Do you think Kessler can beat out Naz?

Yes. No doubt in my mind.

Agreed, I would've been happy with him in the 2nd. Didn't expect him to go at 23.

Guys we don’t need freaking scoring. We led the league last year in that department.. We need defense, size and a *gasp* rim protector.
Maybe he and vando can hold down the second unit so they don’t give up so many leads our first unit gives us

Roddy is going to be a stud I think. He's only going this low because of his frame but the dude can ball.

I'd love him at 29, but very glad we got Kessler locked in first.

I'm not the biggest Naz guy, so I might be the wrong guy to ask. There's like 8 center in this draft that I'd be ready to give minutes to over Naz.

Re: 2022 Draft night thread
Im confused. People last year complained were too small, cant rebound, cant block, cant defend. Now we drafted a 7 foot defensive player, its a bad pick? Holy hell you guys are something else
LETS GO WOLVES!!!

This is the big guerilla centre that this team needed.
