Welcome DeAnthony Melton

Great trade for Morey! Gets a young athletic guard who can shoot the ball. Players either guard positions. Love it.

I couldnt be happier with the trade. Melton is a good young player who fits what they need and can still get better.

Excellent pickup PHI!

I’ve always like his game.

24 years old. 2 years on his deal. That's a nice pickup for that pick.

Labels are cemented by playoff play.

Melton is shooting 26.6% from three and 66.7% from the line in 15 playoff games for Memphis.

He is a pure defensive specialist until he proves otherwise.

He’s also not a combo guard. He’s strictly off ball to me. Not a good ball handler with questionable decision making. But with Harden and Maxey we shouldn’t need that from him.

If Thybulle and Green had a baby, it would be DeAnthony Melton.

Five 3s a game? Not bad. I'm not devastated that we made this trade even though I would have loved to have a pick. He's exactly the type of players we needed in that Heat series since no one wanted to show even an ounce of effort boxing out and grabbing rebounds/making hustle plays.

I think it's a decent trade. Not amazing, not bad. He's a solid NBA rotational player that can bring key value, but has next to no upside. It's one of those things where if someone taken in the 23 range turns out to be really good, you'll regret this trade even if Melton plays well. So just hope everyone taken in the 20's sucks lol.

This is going to be a steal. Remember how Morey swapped Richardson for Curry? We'll be looking back at this one with even more admiration.

This guy is a shooter

3PT shooting
2.1 of 4.8 in 10 games of Feb = 43%
2.9 of 6.2 in 14 games of March = 47%
2.2 of 6.2 in 5 games of April = 35%

10.4 TRB% Similar to
Tobias 10.9%
Harden 10.5%

Yes, I see this guy playing with our starters.

It gave you a chance to trade him

Conspiracy theories, but I was thinking the other day of the player fitting the need if the KD will eventually demand a trade and the Sixers trade Maxey, Harris, Thybulle to the Nets, and sign Tucker, who’s starting at the 2 spot?
Morey does his move and trades for Melton.
