Mine is that he will be a minus-5 player on plus/minus and will be a sieve on defense.

Scottie Barnes averaged 15ppg 7.5 rpg an 3.5 apg. I believe Paolo will be more impactful as a rookie than Barnes was.

21ppg 9.6 rpg 4.3 apg 48% fg% 31 3pt%

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

It will be interesting.
A couple analysts said he's their pick for ROY because he'll get the usage.
I'm going to say 17ppg, 7 rebs, 5 assist. Hoping for high 40s for fg%, and anything 33% or north from 3 will be great.

I'm really hoping he can make his teammates better on the offensive end.
Taking some of the forced usage out of their hands can help.

It depends how much of the offense they run through him. If he puts up enough shots he can easily hit 20ppg. I'm more interested in seeing how he is defensively. That will be the key in his first few seasons to staying on the floor and being the offensive focal point.

I'll suggest 19.5ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.5 ast, 1 stl, .5blk on 30mpg. Shooting splits something like 47% fg and 32% 3fg

If offense is run through him and he’s not passive like Franz, then yes I think he’ll average 20 ppg. I believe him or Franz can do it this year.

21ppg, 8 rpg, 4apg, 35% from 3 on medium volume. ROY...I just hope we win some games. If PB is the guy, we need to restructure the team around him with shooters and D. He and Franz might be great PnR, but we just can't have 5 mediocre shooters on the floor...all this talk of "creation" is true, but somebody needs to finish the job...this was definitely a BPA move, IMO, roster fit be damned for now- which is OK, but I hope the FO gets to work and skips the "assessment year".

tbh, the only guys that are safely part of the new future with PB is Wagner and Carter Jr. I think you are right, the rest of this roster is going to get reshaped around PB. Having a bunch of guards that cannot shoot is not going to work.

The assessment year is actual not a bad thing in terms of roster and the rebuild 3.0.

Fultz’s last year isn’t fully guaranteed so he’s gotta show improvement and that he can be healthy.

Isaac has to stay healthy otherwise it sounds like he could get cut or moved. His salary guarantee for 23-24 is only 7.5M. Wouldn’t be tough to dump it.

Those are 2 big questions that get answered and somewhat shape this team going forward.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

I think it's unlikely he averages 20+ ppg. not many rookies accomplish it, and I don't know if the Magic will make him as much of a focal point as would be necessary to get him there, especially if his 3-point shooting doesn't improve quickly from college.

I'd put him in the 16-18 ppg range, 7 rpg, 3 apg.

I more concerned with the efficiency, how his handle works against grown men, and how often he can get to the line. Also want to see the passing skills.
I really think he is going to be fine on defense eventually. I don't think we are going to as him to be our primary go to guy as a rookie. Not even positive he starts, probably, but we'll see. If he doesn't have to worry about a 30% Usage i think he might be able to focus on the defensive end. Barely anybody comes into this league ready to go, their weakness are quickly identified, and it is up to the player to improve/develop their game.

If I had to guess 14/6/2.5 in 24 minutes a game

Whatever he averages, I would be surprised if it leads to winning games. Whatever works, I just look forward seeing how he translates to NBA.

My god, some of these takes are just hot garbage.

We just added a top 3 pick from a winning organization, and all people have is stuff like "i doubt it leads to any wins!"

Like Jabari was going to take us to the playoffs by camping on the 3 pt line but this kid isn't going to win us any games. Wow, clairvoyant much?

Just stop and come to terms.

Adding talent is one stop closer to being competitive, whether he was your player or not.

I think will be a 18/7/4 guy with heavy usage at 49/36/76 and win rookie of the year and the following year is where he makes the big jump. 23/9/4

His outside shot will be fine, and the fact that he can handle like a guard and post up like a big will translate easily and get him to the line a lot.

He is a smart kid and will wreak havoc on mismatches, especially if he is bringing the ball up a lot.

I get your frustration, but it doesn't apply to me as there's no "my" player in this draft or any other. There's no "my player" on this roster as whole, I do not care for them outside of contributing to Magic as a team. I do not care for their stats, or personal achievements.

I think what he meant is we'll have to see how Paolo's defense translates because that's been the knock on him. If you can't be an average defender you have to be really efficient on offense to make up for it.

That's what we went thru with AG, Vuc, and Fournier. All were below average on one side of the ball and not good enough on the other. Even allstars like Carmelo and Blake were sub-par defenders and never big winners.

I am not frustrated, I have been wanting and pulling for Paolo this whole time. I am actually elated. I just think the takes are absurd. We got the first pick selected in the draft, how can any "fan" not be excited. Sure we aren't going to be a playoff team, as were one of the youngest teams in the NBA and have no vets, but we are much better then we were last year imo and one step closer to being competitive.

Put a big name free agent vet on this team and I think we have a chance at making some noise.

Fair point. I wont argue with that and I am also curious to see how his defense translates. On the bright side, WCJ is a great defender and can take the best scorer (pf or c), and we can always move him onto a center (not named Embiid/Jokic) because his body is big enough.

To go further than that, there was no projected franchise changing talent in this draft (not saying there will not be one), thus no expected effect on wins. The focus is to see his skills translate to NBA to identify what's he will be good at, what he can improve and where that takes the team fit needs.
