They'll trade next years lottery pick for more future heavily protected picks. You know that's what's going to happen.

Yo I said this to myself last night. This year will be the LONGEST year of....

The Knicks could have had....

Thats a ridiculous list to pass on considering alot of them more than likley will turn out to better than Jalen.

This draft was loaded with talent and we didn’t get a single one. Like wtf..

When we sign Brunson, we can finally shift our focus on finding a franchise player and a second option.

The easy part!

Spoiler:
If we sign Brunson.

The Knicks bench is already SET with Randle and RJ. Third option on LOCK with Brunson. The Movement is Moving!

I gave them a D grade cause I'm confused and angry right now but maybe an Incomplete is more fair right now cause we do not know what the end result will look like yet.

I hope so too. I’d love to see a Beal/Randle combo finish out of the playoffs. I’m strictly here to laugh and mock the team moving forward so any move that helps do this I will support. Hopefully they package like 6 firsts for Beal.

Didn’t Beal opt out?

I have never rooted for the Knicks to fail more than now. This Brunson **** needs to blow up in their face.

I don’t know. I hope he didn’t and we trade 6 firsts for him, though.

DOT wrote:So let's assume we trade both Burks and Noel, get nothing significant in return (use the 1sts we got to dump them)

Overall, that'd mean the trade is: 11, Kemba, Burks, Noel, and 4 future 2nds for 30 million in cap space

We then sign Brunson, bring back Taj, re-sign Mitch

Depth chart:

Brunson/Rose/McBride
Fournier/Quick/Keels
RJ/Grimes/Reddish
Randle/Obi
Mitch/Taj/Sims

Theoretically, it's an improvement, but we said the same thing last year. And while yes, we do dump a lot of money, it was all money that we wouldn't have needed to dump if we hadn't given out multi-year deals to guys for being part of a 1 year overachieving team

If I had to guess, we'd also be after a backup C since you can't trust Mitch to stay healthy, Taj is old, and Sims is only good relative to his draft position

We're spinning our wheels trying to reclaim the glory of a fluke 1st round exit. If we were a well-run team like Miami, I'd say there's a chance for it to work out, we just need to be opportunistic and find our Jimmy Butler, but we're more like the late-2010s Magic. Couple more years of mediocrity, then maybe a hard rebuild.

I think we'll be able to wave Taj and move one of Rose, Burks, Noel crew to get around 25 million to pay Brunson. Since Kemba makes 8, our first round pick was 4, and Taj 5. Send Burks to Boston for their trade exception and we're at 26 million in cap space. Noel can back up Mitch with Sims as the third big and idk if the CBA allows to sign a player we just waved but we can bring Taj back at the vet mins instead the MLE.

Still don’t even think we get Brunson. Really doesn’t even make sense. We probably will make a run at Beal or just settle for Brogdon.

even if we get brunson (and I like him). What does Brunson/RJ/Randle get you? Make the playoffs? Potentially then where from there?

We are now sitting in NBA purgatory. Wont draft high enough (potentially in a loaded class). Not a championship contender.

They really think the fan base is excited to try for the play in game???

knicks twitter never stops to amaze me in terms of there justification of this franchise. I get it you love the team but thinking this team has a "direction" is ridiculous.

"This person doesn't agree with me so they must be drinking kool-aid" :D 8-)

when the same guy was justifying that its ok to operate as an over the cap team last because all our contracts were moveable and market value...sorry if I don't by the justifying every move the knicks make approach.

No I get the vitriol for the trade because of the optics and yeah Cohen has been banging that drum for a while. I'm just busting your balls a little because the hivemind in here is strong with this FO and trade lol

I don't see the big deal in saying we moved on from Kemba, which was a bad situation, and netted 2 more protected 1sts out of it even if they may never be as good as the 11 pick in a given year.

I keep coming back to the point where I think of it as if someone offered us let's say 18, 23, and 29 for 11 in this draft and also took Kemba would I have taken it? I think it's a 100% yes for me at this point. Knicks just put it out further...

It's a move that admittedly depends on what else they do after it... If they don't have to attach any of the 1sts that they got to move the salary needed to acquire Brunson then i'm in support of the move.

Handing out first rounders to get rid of expiring players you can’t make this up.

Funniest thing is Randle and Fournier is still on this team lmaoo.
