It was obviously in reaction to the turnover. They cheered when he went down but not because of his injury. I guess you would know better since you're all high and mighty though.

Yeah, that is exactly why the players needed to step in and shush them. Or why the people in front of the arena were cheering and waving goodbye.

destroying the east? lol, they could not even make a single finals.

Regular season. Also recall, they never were triumvirate full strength. I'm saying the condition of all kd, Kyrie, ben being full strength together and gelled.

So incredibly unlikely :D

Those things happen when you see Simmons shot development with your own eyes ... you just want to run away

That being said: Tobias Harris + Tyrese Maxey package is already being prepared to be sent

Simmons and Harris were incapable of playing the full series. Robert Williams was ready to go game 1 if needed

This is just flat-out incorrect. It was less than 3 weeks from meniscus tear to Game 1 of the series. He was not ready to go and was ruled out ahead of time for Games 1 and 2.

I never said that. All I said was that your proclamation that KD wouldn't have fizzled in the Finals is stupid, because he did fizzle out earlier in the playoffs, in round 1.

Per Zach Lowe on his latest podcast - “I can tell you this. Teams are already operating under, not the assumption, but ‘we need to prepare for the contingency’ that Kevin Durant is available via trade in 6-7 days.”

What about the Spurs going after Durant? I know they're probably not on his "list" (if he makes one), but teaming him up with Murray and Popovich (who knows how much longer he'll coach?) might be interesting.

They have young players, their own picks, plus a Bulls 2025 pick and a Celtics 2028 pick. I'm not suggesting they offer it all, but they could make a decent offer.

I've definitely thought about this one, but I think it's a long shot. I feel like it might be more of a landing spot for Kyrie, though you have to question why Pop would trade Murray for him, and if he could get Kyrie without Murray, how does he fit and does he want to put up with Kyrie's bull **** even though they still wouldn't be an actual contender?

So that's the question with San An as a KD landing spot. Sure Pop is a game changer type of coach, but is that situation any better then riding it out in Brooklyn for at least a season and seeing how you fit with Ben Simmons, a healthy Joe Harris back and whatever other moves Sean Marks can make to complete the roster?

Simply going off the nuclear assumption KD wants out if Kyrie is traded for light value, I think a very serious darkhorse destination for Durant will be Denver for Jamal Murray, but the problem is, they have like zero picks to send to Brooklyn outside swaps for 5 years.

Most deals imho, will run through OKC as the 3rd team, sending a slew of valuable picks to Brooklyn for a player like Herro, Jaylen Brown or someone of that ilk. A blue chip young player with a ton of remaining potential who fits their timeline, whose team would only trade said player if they're getting a KD type of guy, so it's the only way OKC could pry that player for themselves, but makes less sense for the Nets to take as the centerpiece over additional picks.

Lowry, Herro, Yurtseven, Jovic (pick 27) and 2 firsts

Lowry on a 2/57 deal right now that expires at the same time as Joe Harris.

Going into the 2024-2025 season, Ben Simmons 40M expiring would be their only contract on the books.

if they don't see a way to compete, this could be it.

They could go even a step further and recoup more picks by absorbing Gordon Haywards contract (also expiring the same year as Lowry/Harris)

Lakers get - Kyrie
Hornets get - Westbrook
Nets get - Gordon Hayward, Kelly Oubre, Nick Richards, 2 1st round picks from Lakers

Surround Simmons with shooters and see what happens. Either way you won't have your pick so can try to be a play in team and build a better plan by the time you have the ability to start over.

Lowry/Mills/Carter
Curry/Herro/Thomas
Brown/Harris/Jovic
Simmons/Oubre/Hayward
Claxton/Sharpe/Richards

Hardly a great plan, but gets you 2 1sts from Heat (3 if you still count Jovic), plus 2 1sts from the Lakers and a 2 year window to get out of everything other than Simmons

Kylie thought he could do his own thing and not show up to work and still get a max contract. No one will invest money in him longterm. Except the Lakers cuz he's desperate. But Kyrie would need to take a big paycut without any guarantees that Laker will give him the max next year incase he gets injured or does another Kyrie.

And he **** his best friend, KD, in the meantime.

Couldn't happen to better guys.

huh? they didnt pay kyrie. they sow what they reaped. its def in their control but they dont want to be managed by gm kyrie.
nets are dumb they didnt really see this coming what he did in boston? this only tells me their owner and gm has big ego and dont want t get bossed around but all the great player including kd and lebron wants to gm. they dont deserve to win a ring in a player league.

I'm only suggesting SA if what you said in bold happens. I'm not sure if KD plus Ben Simmons/Joe Harris is better than KD plus Murray, Popovich and a group of young players (depending on who they trade). Keep in mind that Simmons hasn't played for a year and we still don't know if he worked on his shot.

But maybe KD stays because it's Brooklyn and he'd rather run with the team he's currently on. Only time will tell.

As for SA it moves the team up a notch during the final few years of Popovich's coaching career.

P.S. I doubt SA would want Kyrie. He's the opposite of what that franchise has done historically.

Kyrie/KD couldlve chosen probably 28 or so teams to go to when they were FA's and they chose the Nets, as a package deal. I have no problem with him demanding out if Kyrie leaves. He came, in part, due to Kyrie
