I didn't remember it looking this bad, but there are a few normal looking guys there

but this is on another level, I can only save Jabari Smith there

The chains are pretty goofy to me but the 2022 guys' suits are waaaaay better.

This is my exact takeaway.

If they lose the chains they actually all look great.

Ben Simmons was simple and classy. All these guys over do it.

lol I'm all for criticizing the new generation's taste. For example, I think they have terrible taste in rap. As basketball players, they tend to be soft and lack competitive spirit. Most of that cliche "kids these days" stuff I find myself agreeing with...I'm actually in that stage in my life that I don't understand these 20 year olds.

That said though, as someone with eyes, I think without a doubt these guys look far less ridiculous than the early/mid 2000 oversized clown suites and fedoras.

But in all seriousness, draft fashion probably peeked around 2011-2013, so if the OP is referring to that time period, I definitely agree.
Just from some google searches, I think Wiggins started the transition in 2014 with vegas magician suit. DLO and RHJ took it to another level the following year, and it was all downhill from there.

Take Wiggins out and the 2014 class actually might be the more stylish class, but including Wiggins I think 2013 is where draft outfits peaked.

Many think of 2013 as one of the worst drafts of all time, but what they lacked in talent and basketball abilities, they made up for by dressing less ridiculously than all the other NBA draft classes in history.

I also miss coaches (and injured players) wearing suits. It's not like it's a big deal that ruins the game or anything, but it just made the games feel like they were a little more important. Obviously, I get why they'd prefer not to wear those all game long though.

Suits are uncomfortable but most men do look better in em. I miss having an excuse to put em on.

It can hide the gut if you're fat. Beyond that I don't really see it. If you're fit, I'd rather be in a fitted polo or something. And the idea of shoulder pads is just confusing.

But at the end of the day, I just hate wearing a jacket that's not cut with a full range of motion in mind. It's awful and no a tailor can't fix that. It's just a flaw with how suits are designed.

A quality suit exudes pride in your appearance and makes you feel good. When I used to go into the office, I would wear a suit everyday and keep it on until I went to sleep

David Stern wouldn't allow this debacle. Hate him or love him, what he was focused on was professional image of the league. He wouldn't allow nothing less than a tailored suit for draftees.

I'm just hoping Silver won't allow draftees wear short skirts and dresses to express themselves in the future. Kilts are OK especially if they are Irish lol

I do miss coaches wearing suits. Frankly I wish they'd go back to it. And I don't understand at all why they prefer wearing ill fitting clothes on national tv.

Gross man, when I was forced with that crap I just hung the coat up and left it there. I just had 3-4 jackets hanging so I never had to even wear the crap in or out of the building. Just had it for meetings when required. I really hope I never have to wear one again!

Well let’s not forget that skinny jeans are at least worn above the dick. How many times have we got a flash a of guy fully in his underwear because of giant saggy jeans?

Social media influenced nonsense. I guess this is what’s cool now. But it seems most of these new players want to act and look like rappers. Check out Chet Holmgrens poses . Dude looks like he’s posing for an album cover.

Well that's a different thing. That's a dude wearing pants that don't fit. jenco's were designed to fit your waist. I've seen low rise jeans fall off dudes and they were neither sagging nor baggy...again just didn't know how to buy pants that fit!

Really, didn't care what they wore. Was more impressed by what Dyson Daniel's and Christian Braun's moms were wearing.

This isn't the wall street draft class. They're basketball players who gives a fawk.

I don't mind the suits. Yeah, some of them are goofy (Paolo), but at least they fit right.

Would you wear these suits to work? No. But for an event like the NBA Draft? Sure, knock yourself out.
