I just watched it too. I liked it, but it got a little unrealistic at the end. You know, the part where Giannis scores 50 in the Finals to win his team the championship! Come on, keep it plausible!

We gotta bring Wes back. Couldn’t ask for a better duo of savvy, tough as hell veteran perimeter defenders to learn from every day than Wes and Jrue.

I am super optimistic about MarJon’s defensive upside. I also thought Rashad Vaughn would be good so my opinion means jack ****. But I feel really good about this one lol

If I were his coach I would order him to shoot :

1000 FTs per day
1000 corner 3s per day

His body is obviously NBA ready and he is a good cutter and finisher around the rim due to his length.

His is 21 , he has a small time window to improve his shooting mechanics. And he has to convert his FTs into points when he gets fouled around the rim

Very similar to Mattias Thybulle in terms of measurements. Their play is somewhat similar and I'm assuming they will have MB sit in corner three spot on offense similar to Thybulle.

Someone in the Thybulle/LRMAM range seems pretty good at #24. Still need to find a guard somewhere but happy with this pick.

Damn Hollywood stretching the artistic liberties a bit much, no? Like they did with Winning Time.

This is going to seem weird, but Marjon is going to play plenty at the 4 in the NBA. Too short for that? Nah, he has an 8'10" standing reach. How does that compare to other 4s? Mikal Bridges has an 8'8" standing reach.

Against smaller teams, yes. Against the 6'9" or above type F's, he's going to have to bulk up a little. He weighed in at 197lbs, I'm guessing with an NBA workout regimen and diet he can get up to 215ish.

I understand the concern, but who are these powerhouse 4s? Jason Tatum? Mikal Bridges? KD?

There's just not much power left at the PF position. Most 4s in today's game are classic SFs.

I don't think he'll have any trouble putting on 25-30 lbs of good weight. He's built like Giannis.

Don't anyone ever tell Jayson Tatum he's 6'9". Keep him playing like a small shooting guard forever, lol.

Don't know if this was mentioned but he shot 40% from distance on very high volume at Yakima. Seems to be some touch to work with there. Probably slow to adjust to the NBA line.

Because I’ve learned my lesson after years of being wrong about most draft picks, I’ll reserve judgment at least until summer league. I’ll say I like his defensive versatility, his instinct for backcuts in the half court, and the fact that 30% of his offense came off of transition. He should be able to run the fast break with Giannis and add some nice switchablity on defense. We all know the jumper is an issue but hopefully they can figure that out. Regardless, he shot 56% from the field in the G-league so maybe he can work around that weakness a little bit too. I’m excited to see what he has.

Kid has some real potential at both ends. It might take him longer to get his first 20-point game than it took Donte, though.

So, he's Donte.
