Who haven't Tottenham (and Arsenal and Chelsea) enquired about?

I can't believe that we'd actually sell Maddison.

I think it was more of a conversation, more than anything concrete. I have a hunch Tottenham are not going to pay that much for him, also I don't think Maddison will force his way out either.

Kalvin Phillips signed by City - the rich get richer lol. I can't believe Leeds folded on their valuation of Kalvin Phillips...

It's quite a low price considering the usual English tax, not to mention he plays on the English team. I thought the starting price would be £60 million.

£45m for Jesus is a good deal for Arsenal, you have to say.

It should’ve been and the message at where I work was that was going to be the fee, Leeds folded under pressure like most smaller clubs do when a bigger club wants their top players.

City are doing good business, I do think them signing Phillips is more of an indication that they want to fill their English quota rather than really admiring him. It allows them to sell Sterling now while keeping enough home grown players on the book.

Bale to LAFC is a surprise. I might have to get tickets now to a match.

Pretty much all done now as well! Might be the last bit of business from them as well unless something comes up. 150 mill on Cucurella, Phillips and Haaland is good business tbh

Bale is as box office as it gets, even towards the end of his career. I've seen him play in person a number of times when he was at Spurs, and back then he was just a blur. Nobody could get anywhere near him.

I got to see Zlaton Ibrahimovich when he played with LA Galaxy. That was pretty cool to see but I missed out on a Wayne Rooney Match.

Defiantly will not miss Messi if he goes to Miami.

Just doing their due dilligence, I would imagine. Maddison is quality and fits a position of relative need, but Leicester have no incentive to sell and he loves it there.

He would command a large fee and I think Spurs need a LCB, RWB and versatile forward that can cover the front three to replace Bergwijn, before we can think about midfield after the Bissouma signing.

Why do football teams need so many players? Or is it more super rich thing to buy several similar players and just see which one turns out to be world class and just call others as business expense? Cucurella is very good, still dont know how to pronounce his name, but sad to see such likable player get scooped by CITY

I think it's pronounced coo-coo-rey-a, but couldn't confirm that.

Controversially, next season teams will be able to make 5 substitutions, so the top clubs are spending more money to ensure they have quality depth at every position and strong rotations.

And taking that depth from the other prem clubs. This rule simply widens the gap between the haves and the have nots.

New week and players are coming back from their holidays, the road to the new season starts today!

New week and some new news -

Aston Villa have a bid out for Otavio (it's hard to get news on my own team because they are so damn secretive)
Liverpool still keeping tabs on Gnabry and Raphinha now
Saliba is in limbo, will have a contract offer but if a bid Arsenal like comes in he'll be gone
Raphinha again still prefers Barca over the other teams that want him
PSG will wrap up Skrinnar soon, around 70mill euros and Vitinha is likely to join PSG

I assume the interest in those two players is because Salah may be leaving?

Additionally, what is going on with Arteta? It's not as if Arsenal's defense couldn't use a young, French international at CB.

I'd guess that Liverpool either know or are planning life without Salah, to be honest they are a Salah replacement away from completing their succession rebuild.

With Saliba, it's a weird situation as a whole. Saliba wants to stay at Arsenal provided he gets the chances, whereas it seems Arteta doesn't rate him as highly. He's made a numerous amount of excuses for not playing him (Arteta is known to be difficult with players he's fallen out with). It's crazy because I used to rate Saliba higher than Fofana when they were both playing on the same team, but it seems that Fofana has done a lot more than Saliba has.

Arsenal will send another bid for Lisandro Martinez after the first one failed, Man UTD have spoke with his reps and the feeling is positive between the two. If he goes he'll likely go Man Utd over Arsenal.

City will extend Mahrez
Ronaldo news with Chelsea is wide off the mark, Mendes and Chelsea met for several transfer targets and Ronaldos name came up in passing rather than anything concrete.

Talks are starting to progress between Barca and Bayern, Barca have upped their offer. Problem is that Bayern want everything in one payment rather than installments
