Thing for me (besides totally agreeing on enjoying prospects/draft) is my alma mater is one of the worst D1 hoops teams around, so I don't have any college team as a rooting interest. Because of that I pretty much schedule my moderate amount of college ball watching around specific players rather than teams.

Well, this is the draft many of us have waited for, when the Nets' "lotto" picks come to fruition. There is a good chance that at least one of the 2016-2018 Nets' picks will be a top 5 pick.

Now we just have to pray that these next three drafts will be deep.

Yes.

If we luck out with this Brooklyn pick and get Ben Simmons or Skal i'd be ecstatic.

Yes.

Brandon Ingram of Duke, projected top 5 guy. Ripped this off the general board.

Bender is a pretty interesting prospect. Like Saric from a couple years back but better in every category, from the sounds of it.

@nbadraftblog: The use of “steals” as a main determinant in opining whether a college defender is good or bad is still ridiculous a ridiculous idea

@nbadraftblog: Looked at many, including Gary Payton III, who averaged over 3 steals per game. Brogdon was a level above all, with less than 1 per game

Really impressive...he's certainly at least on par with Durant in the athleticism department.

I like Poeltl a lot. going to be a solid NBA center IMO. not a star or anything but solid.

I've been a big Ingram fan for a while now. Was hoping he would come to UCLA before the recruiting hype train got him and he went to Duke. As the video shows he's a really good/smooth athlete with ridiculous length and tons of skill. He kind of has that smooth, rock you to sleep, game though so people underrate him as an athlete. He's got a pretty nice jumper as well. People will compare him to Kyle Anderson, but he's a much better athlete and shooter. Really needs to work on his body though and show that he can play with fire. Those are his two main weaknesses for me.

Speaking of lazy comparisons, I think the Bender to Porzingis is another one. He's a long, skinny, Euro who can shoot it some? Must be Porzingis. Porzi is a better athlete and probably has better range on his shot currently, but Bender (from what I've seen) has WAY more all around skill and natural instincts. He can handle, pass, has some mid range game, and is generally a smart player. Porzingis is huge, athletic, and has range but he always seemed a bit robotic to me as he lacks some in between skills and basketball instincts. Not saying one will be better than the other, but they are different players.

Bender, Ingram, and Simmons are the the 3 guys I'll have my eye on this year from an intrigue standpoint. Bender I need to see more of and Ingram/Simmons I want to see how their games will translate to college ball.

agreed on both counts.
Porzingis is a better athlete, vertically, longer and all that, but Bender is much more fluid, especially with the ball.
Bender is also a better defender and has a better motor, while been worse as a shooter.
Like you said Bender is a much more complete offensive player while Porzingis is more one dimensional, which imo doesnt have to be bad if you are really determinant at that though.
Bender is likely going to play big minutes for Maccabi even in Euroleague, unless they get Papanikolau or so.

Skal at the top of the lotto and Henry Ellenson in the mid-lotto right now. Zhou Qi might be classified as a shooting big too but who knows where he will end up.

@BobbyMarks42: With NCAA practices starting this week, look for the wave of NBA team personnel to start invading gyms. Practices more beneficial then games

I've been seen the game at MSG, the guy is just phenomenal, so intelligent on both sides and filling out nicely, he is not a vertical athlete, but he is unreally long, plays tough, and has really fast feet, he is a phenomenal defender, can switch with anybody and in time will be able to defend even Centers.
Looks like a 7'1 Kawhi Leonard with more creativity upside.

Sounds like a Stevens guy, honestly I think he values the defensive versatility and playmaking more than a one dimensional scorer type.

he needs to keep working on his shooting mechanics, add arc and speed up the release, and fill still a little, but oh man, he is just all over the place.
he is still only 17, his improvement curse is up there with Gasol's or Giannis at the same age, he is more advanced than both I'd say.
