Right now I’d have him #2 behind Flagg.
I like his early numbers and BBIQ. I've learned to be suspicious of BYU prospects since their stats don't seem to translate. As of right now I have Demin behind Nolan Traore though.
What's the French word for 'shifty'?
Traore plays the way I hope Bub someday plays. Next level intelligence and processing speed, great handle and use of screens, crafty interior scoring in traffic. Unrattled at every moment.
Plus I think it would be funny to have 3/5ths of the French NT starters going into the next Olympics.
I haven't been that impressed with what I've seen of Traore, and his size. I know a lot of people are high on him so I'll keep an open mind.
As far as Egor, before BYU he played for Real Madrid. Would you feel more confident about him if he was just a prospect coming from Real Madrid without the ties to BYU?
so far everyone seems to be playing weak competition. College ball this season so far has been frustrating to watch because of it, although the game tonight I saw Syracuse vs Texas was pretty good.
Demin played for the Real Madrid junior team, not the Euroleague team. In the NCAA, Demin has only played against farmers and accountants so far. Traore is playing against grown professional players in Europe.
And last year, Traore was far more dominant at the junior level than Demin.
Not saying one is better than the other, just something to keep in mind when hyping up or tearing down prospects based on a very limited sample of dubious data.
