Yeah, I was amazed by that play. I didn't think he still had springs like that.He was head level with the rim.
Indeed, that's the 38 inch vertical I remember, I think it was adrenaline.

Backed by Boston assistant Tom Thibodeau's schemes, in three games against the Celtics this season, Bryant is shooting a combined 24-for-72 from the floor. That's 33 percent. By shooting nine of 26 -- 35 percent -- Bryant actually improved his season-long field-goal percentage vs. the Celtics.
And the majority of those possessions have come with Allen checking Bryant solo. Help is never far away from other Celtics, but by and large it's Allen's show.
Bryant gives the defense no credit, saying this was merely a case of "missing bunnies ... Hopefully I'll get those same looks in Game 2."

Pierce's knee popping, getting carried off the court and 10 minutes later him coming back into the game and hitting 2 three pt shots was a momentum change that can't be depended on.
That play where KG saves a backcourt violation and Cassell makes the shot was another momentum changer. You could feel the momentum change when PJ caught the ball and Cassell shoot. I knew he would make it before he released it.
People want to hate on Kobe for his poor shooting game but he wasn't the only one shooting bad. For all the hype about the Celtics defense look at how well the Lakers D was. The Celtics shot 42%. The Lakers have shown they can shut down the Celtics offense.
The Lakers lost the game in on area really and that was at the FT line. They got into the penalty with 8 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter and the Celtics took advantage. Rondo, Pierce and Allen all made back breaking FT's. Straight up the Lakers can hold the Celtics offense. I remember the Lakers causing shot clock violations and on play in particular the shot clock was at 1 second and Vujacic had Ray Allen and bailed him out when Ray sold out on his jumpshot.
Celtics starting 5 got 33 FT's. If the Lakers can keep from putting the Celtics in the penalty early in quarters they can win......
