Time to come home Taylor... Back to where it all began.

Perfect time for Pop to step down officially and the Spurs to hand the reigns to his former Assistant Coach. Perfect timing tbh.

The timing seems very strange, but often, teams react to a HC firing with a lot of bounce. Maybe the FO knew they were going to fire him anyway and decided to try and take advantage of the situation by getting their team fired up for the playoffs.

That's the only thing I can think of, except if there were some really ugly situation prompting an immediate exit.

Otherwise this is an effing stupid move. The guy seems to be a great coach, despite what message board complainers say about his rotations and whatnot.

If Adrian Griffin can be fired after going 30-13 and having the 2nd best record in the East after 43 games in his first year then anybody can be fired nowadays in this new NBA.

Yup, the #1 team in the East has been doing this very thing, all season, I'd say it works in a marathon not sprint season.

Cavs just went on a 4 game losing streak and didn't feel the need to fire Kenny Atkinson with 2 weeks until the playoffs lol

The timing of the Jenkins firing makes zero sense.

Yeah looking back at that now, that's crazy too. Weird.

But they did fire Bickerstaff after the team made the 2nd round and lost to the Celtics without 2 of their 4 most important players. Now obviously as we see it may have appeared to be a Mark Jackson/GSW situation where the team was maxed out with Bickerstaff as coach but it still was kind of stunning because he didn't have a healthy squad in the series they were eliminated.

That seems to have worked out well for the Cavs, Bickerstaff, Atkinson, and Detroit. A win-win-win-win!

Which rotations and coaching decisions did he make that were so bad?

Everyone who has been following Iisalo longer knew he would be an NBA HC sooner or later. I'm assuming the Grizz have seen how genius of a coach he is and just couldn't wait any longer.

For those who are not familiar with Iisalo, he basically turned all the teams he coached in Europe around and made them winners.

He would bench guys when they were hot. Lost games doing that.

Maybe to keep Iisalo, before someone steals him in the offseason?

Yep. He was going to be a hot commodity this offseason for other teams. I think MEM knew that and decided to give him a shot at the HC gig to decide if he's their guy moving forward.

Can you give some specific examples?

I stand with this level of savagery.

Unless we're talmbout something serious, I'm gonna wonder if Mempis looked at all the other dysfunctional places and thought, "Hol' much beer."

What if he put his foot down on some foolery with their star guard that we don't know about yet?

Wait what? I just check the basketball news for the first time today and certainly didn't expect to see this. Is there going to be a story that comes out later with a video of Taylor Jenkins at a Diddy party or something like that?
