So if we take Bamba and are gonna trade KP, I'd rather it be for a younger player to grow with Frank/Bamba, who are both projects
I actually think Bamba isn't really a project in terms of what he can provide now. The project part is the offense, which I think is further along than people realize - he was not a good offensive player his senior year in HS, and now he's picking and popping / hitting spot up threes, albeit at a low %, at Texas. I know that opinion isn't a common one, but it's part of why I have him and Luka as my only tier 1 guys.
You've watched him more than I have, and you have access to Synergy, so I'll take your word for it
I do think he has potential to be the best in this class end of the day, but I'm just saying I don't think we should trade KP for Kawhi if we draft Bamba, it should be someone more aligned with Bamba and Frank's timeline
The Synergy stats really aren't in favor of him in terms of his shooting ability - 24th in catch & shoot and 25th in pick and pop, but that's with one year of actually hitting the gym with shooting. He's been working with arguably (?) the two best player development guys in the NBA in Hanlen and Brickley, so that's getting me excited. I also love the form - smooth, smooth, smooth with high arc.
I believe in Knox's ability long term in catch & shoot even if the results aren't there now because of the form (although he needs to work on not short arming it and actually following through, because his right arm doesn't naturally extend all the time), but Bamba's is more intriguing because of how far he's come in a short amount of time.
I agree by the way on the Kawhi - KP trade. Kawhi's injury scares the hell out of me.
