Yup. If they finish the season going 16-16, we only need to 26-6 down the stretch to catch them.

I wonder how many posts there will be about mediocracy, EG must be fired, and these are fake wins there will be?

These wins are ho hum for some but not me. I'm thoroughly impressed with the Wizards right now.

I wasn't knocking the win or the Wiz -- the opposite, as if to say "no big deal, this is what we do. "

Sorry, but I thought you were mocking those who are TOO preoccupied with the past to be happy.

It really is what the Wizards do now.

This is the best stretch of winning games since the Wizards went 23-8 and EJ almost coached the all star game.

Beal's 3P% is up to .371. It was only two months ago that I was pointing out that he was literally the worst 3-point shooter in history among anyone averaging 5 or more attempts per 36 minutes.

This Wizard defense is SICK.

And that's after scoring what, 30 in the first quarter? Pretty outstanding, though the Bucks definitely bricked their fair share of open jumpers.

So nice to have a team that rotates and hustles properly on defense.

Agree...this could have been a game where Witt should have stayed with Price. Not that Wall didnt deserve to get back in and was playing well, but bringing him in that late makes it tough to get back in the flow. He seemed unwilling to shoot the J like he has at home in similar late game situations, which also may have been a result of how long he sat and lead to him forcing drives....that being said, WHO CARES!!!...the team is fun to watch and is winning. This backcourt has big time potential and this team isn't far from being a playoff contender. If this was you first time watching ball, you would be like WTF if someone were to tell you that the Bucks were the playoff team and the Wiz had 15 wins...

4 down. 20 wins in a row to go till we reach .500

19 after we kick DETs ass.

Then a 3 game home stand where we have been hot.

TOR
DEN
HOU

All tough games.

Just keep the train rolling baby. How do you eat an elephant ? One bite at a time.

You don't go from being compared to Ray Allen to being the worst 3 point shooter ever. Clearly, Beal was a better shooter than he showed the first couple of months of the season.

Amazing defensive performance after the first Q. Only reason the Buck got what they did was the refs giving Monta the whistle anytime he was breathed on, even though he's allowed to grab Wall's hand ona drive to the hoop

I get Wittman sticking with Temple today, but I want to see back with the starters on Wednesday....

The deal with John and his TO's is that he appears to not know what to do when he can't get to the rim and the guys he wants to pass to are covered....it leads to TO's. Once he can mix-it-up with some respectable shooting (not hesitating ), he will become an allstar.

With Beal hurting his hand again and them winning again, I doubt he changes anything.

Temple starting allowed him to play a ton of Beal down the stretch. He had 36 minutes. That is what matters.

His form is the same, but he just looks more fluid now. You can tell he isn't aiming it, he's getting square, and the game has slowed down....

The Zards have held last 9 opponents to less than 100. Tied for third in franchise history. Can win a lot of games that way. Way to go team!

He did a much better job keeping his dribble alive.

This game, the TOs came from him getting pretty fancy with the ball handling which I think came hand in hand with him shooting less which I liked. But they go hand in hand. If he isn't going to shoot, he is going to have to make more intense moves to get separation.

All things being equal, I will take the turnovers with 10 assists and 5-6 shooting vs turnovers with less assists and 6-18 shooting.

I want to see him have the same approach next game. He will get better at it.

It said this in the preview:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/wizards-bu ... --nba.html
The Wizards held the Nets to a season-low 32.9 percent shooting and dropped their average points allowed over their past eight games to 87.8. They gave up 96.8 per game in their first 41 contests.

If they've been giving up 88 over the last 8 games, this game with the Bucks getting 90 is routine but awesome defense.

And he has Wall feeding him for open looks and creating better floor spacing where he can step to the open spot. Plus the confidence mentioned.

And not picking up his damn dribble so often would help. :nonono:

And like I said CCJ

Defense is no longer really the story. Its offensive efficiency.

Wizards were 56.8% FG. 14-17 from the line.

They have been ranked last in offense all year. That is going to start to change. I think over the last 15 games they are closer to middle of the pack.

#1 defense.
Middle of the pack offense and getting better.

That is a team that can win a lot of games. Much more then an 8th seed quality team. Closer to 4-6 seed.

When they clean up the TOs, these win margins are only going to grow. We had 19

MIK shot 37.9%

It's going to be tough for teams to guard us with Wall Néne, and Beal out there...they're applying a lot of pressure which is creating a lot of shot fakes for easier drives and dishes to wide open teammates...it's been such a change from what we saw the first two months.
