this thing about lance thomas playing defense needs to stop, because it's not true.
You have to give credit when credit is due. Dude played hungry last year and did play some good defense. It was apparent when watching the games and showed up in the stats. Just need him getting back to playing that way.
He did play some decent man to man defense last season. OUtside of that....He provided absolutely nothing... He had a few games where he put up 12 points... 16 points... 14 points...22 points...But was not a consistent scorer and was on a minimum contract so those numbers were huge bonuses when they happened....
The truth of the matter is....Lance is not good at anything...He cant create for himself, he cant create for others or handle the basketball, He is not a shooter (shooting 40% and only making .8 3's a game isn't all that impressive), He doesn't rebound the ball, Doesn't block shots, doesn't get steals or cause turnovers, doesn't get any deflections, cant guard the post, cant protect the rim when playing the 4 spot, isn't athletic for the 3-4 position...
But what he is very good at...and this is not a joke...Very good at playing out of control, very good at dribbling the ball off his feet, very good at dribbling into traffic and taking a wild shot, very good at cross court passes (as in... not a good thing), very good at stepping on lines (3pt line or out of bounds line), very good at turning the ball over in general, very good and being completely lost on offense, very good at taking bad shots or forcing shots early in the shot clock....Those are the things he is good at...
So hes bad at things he should be good at.... and good at things you don't want your players to be good at...
Lance is not a good NBA player. He is a player who is below average in every aspect in basketball on the NBA level.
