dont matter who pitches next if we can't hit and score more than 2 runs a game.

The offense has been bad but let's not let the pitching off the hook here lmao
Last 5 losses before tonight was 7 runs allowed, 7 runs allowed, 8 runs allowed, 6 runs allowed, and 7 runs allowed. Not sure which offense can outscore that level of awful pitching.

They are not even coming close to outscoring an opponent. Losing 8-0 is not losing 8-6. The offence has been brutal. If the team is lucky, they score a run or two early before bagging it for the night. Comebacks? Ha1

Can we petition to have Schad be the next Blue Jays manager? We know he's knowledgable and understands the stats so the nerds can back off. How is his personality management?

Unless he's a puppet, they won't want anything to do with him.

Tomorrow afternoon we are officially eliminated from playoff contention. Need to start the offseason thread from now

Charlie Montoyo is trending on Twitter right now. He took the fall for the analytics guys who map out games and the top of the lineup not delivering.

The good ship Blue Jay... thar she blows!
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

The offense has been brutal with RISP lately. I can count two grounded into DPs including Chapman's in this game with the bases loaded up 2-0 stopped the momentum and another game not so long ago, there was a Hernandez strikeout followed by Bichette hitting into a DP.
Likely, because the pitching is so bad 2/5 times, it is forcing the offense to try to do too much.
Today, the Jays had a great lineup on paper. No Tapia, Jansen, Merrifield, Zimmer; along with Springer and Kirk in it and they still couldn't produce.
Overall, the offense is very good but when they struggle, they struggle when it counts.

Can we clean house mid-season?

At this point, we need to clean house. Everyone has underperformed this season. Although the hitting as a whole has been solid, a number of individual players have underperformed. The pitching has been a disaster. Yeah, a lot of the blame falls on Shatkins for failing to shore up the rotation and bullpen, but Walker hasn't done anything to alleviate things (and Berrios has grossly underperformed his career average). And of course, Shatkins are in year 7 of their tenure with the team. You'd expect some kind of results by this point.

Seriously. Atkins is a f'ing egomaniac. I remember towards the end of last year a fan 590 interview of Atkins about the success Pete Walker had working with Robbie Ray yielding a Cy Young season. Instead of praising his subordinate, he goes "it was not one individual, but a team of analysts working with Robbie (Ray)". F U Atkins
I hated Atkins from day 1, and now I'm back out of the closet to denounce that d-bag bean counter.

The biggest tragedy in all of this was Shatkins running AA out of town. AA is building a dynasty in Atlanta right now while we appear to be circling the drain.

Let's all remember our biggest star was signed by AA - Vladdy Jr, creatively trading prospect (Chase DeJong) for international pool money to secure a teenage Vladdy. Let Atkins handle it, he would have nickel and dime his way to a missed opportunity
I think I nearly cried over sports two times in my life - once was when Kawhi signed with LA and the other is when AA left

I cant **** believe this ****.
So it is now considred the wrong thing that a **** manager should decide where his batters bat,and in what order etc...you have got to be kidding me.
The manager who is in the dugout, and clubhouse, and in direct contact, and speaks to the players. He has to rely on anal...cs,and not his own brain. So i guess thats it then.We are relying on an outside force, system,or model that tries to predict the future like a **** psychic.Doesn,t sound like **** baseball to me.Should call the the Toronto Analytics BlueJays...simulating good results.
Data based on previous results does not automatically predict the future, and that the trend will automatically continue as it was previously. We cannot, and should not be totally reliant on it.Cant believe they do not already know this ****.

We really did AA dirty. Instead of rewarding him for building a team that got to the ALCS, we hired his replacement and offered him a demotion. That's not how you run a respectable sports organization.
Rogers wanted to let Masai go last year too, after he brought us a title. They are not fit to own sports teams.
