Disappointed because they missed out on an opportunity to add another long-term piece to the young core and our future hangs on the balance of blind faith in FO's ability to make miracles happen with late picks of a weak draft when they've fumbled almost every aspect for a while now.

What long term piece are you referring to exactly?

All reports are stating that Indiana was not offering any of their young players. Ergo - what mystical trade are you talking about?

Dumb ass fans thinking they know more than scouts and experts. This is why there are flat earthers thinking they know more than the smartest people alive (and throughout history) based on youtube "resurch".

Opinions do not hold the same currency as facts.

This is the problem with short-sighted people. Can't see nothing beyond what's right in front of them. And often not even that. Can't look back. Can't look forward. There have been many calls by many people to trade Siakam long before things came to this point. Where there would've been offers better than the garbage the team accepted. The fact that they punted this decision for as long as they did is why the offers got so bad. Also, the option of extension should have been open to them but they closed that shut due to mismanagement of relationships.

Was Miami on a back to back to back to back game? Jesus, they were sleep walking thru the first half haha.

I really like Porter. To lazy to look up his gleague numbers, but I'm going to assume he can hit the 3 at a good rate. He plays fundamentally sound defense, moves his feet well, and makes the correct pass. He's a little underwhelming physically, but we could have a decent backup big with him for next year.

My guess is we'll look at grabbing a couple of backups bigs in this 2024 draft with 2 of our likely 3 picks in the top 31 (I'm assuming we end up sending #8 or so to the Spurs), because the guards look shakier compared to the bigs, and then the 2025 and 2026 drafts gives us 3 shots (maybe 4 if we move Brown) to get the proper scorer/shooter on the perimeter we need.

He's not going to be a big time scorer, but he can still score when called upon and he's a valuable floor spacer. Even if Gradey hits his potential I can't see him being better than GTJ. I like GTJ fit with our young guys.

I just hate that he disappears with a mystery I jury or sickness every 3-5 games later

Or maybe, just maybe there has not been interest in him and the deals offered had poison pill contracts within.

It's easy to say we should trade pmayer a for a star and 5 picks; far more challenging to actually do it. Siakam is a Robin, yet everyone expected a Batman haul.

Plenty of reports out there saying we tried to sign him to an extension at multiple points but couldn't agree.

Keldon?

We do have an upcoming payment to the Spurs for the Kawhi loan, though I think this is the final payment...

I think PJ Washington would be a good target. No clue if Charlotte would entertain that thought. Decent defender, and a very capable 3 point shooter, and he's only 25.

They say every year draft is weak.Cmon

Yeah but this draft was supposed to be so weak that Raptors felt safe to put a weak ass protection on the pick to trade to Spurs for Poeltl. And apologists have been telling us so many times that 2024 draft is supposed to be a historically weak draft. Weaker than it's been for years so it was supposed to be ok even if they end up losing a lottery pick. And now, just because they got couple of late picks in the same draft, we are supposed all of a sudden believe it's magically now better?

Stop it, Miami started trying the 2nd half and Gradey became unplayable again. Nonetheless, great 1st half from him even if Miami wasn't trying lol.

We dont know that as he didnt get to play

He did... he had 2 quick turnovers in like 2 minutes lol.

Yet GTJR is always getting traded just because he doesn’t pass but when Gradey does it, he is bust and can’t shoot

You think we wouldn't have gotten better offers if Siakam had one more year left on his deal? Simple logic and basic understanding of NBA history would allow you to understand you are talking outta your ass there.

We got bunch of garbage and nothings. How is expecting to get something more than that a Batman haul now?
