yes, he was helped by playing next to a great frontcourt partner in reese and the overall team defense needs to be accounted for in some ways, (that goes for every prospect like Flagg/Maluach/Bryant too) but the way people talk about him you'd think he was an albatross or something but he was actually really good

of course that's not to say he'll be some draymond-like defender at the next level or even a great one, but the discourse doesn't match reality. The way people talk about his body you'd think he's a Tractor Traylor redux out there when he's not even close to that.

sometimes, ballers are just ballers and you shouldn't overthink things

Its deff being over blown by posters here because if you do not like Queen for whatever reason....(Maybe the Canadian Tax joke got some people mad lol) ...But his Def is the only really thing you can knock about him.....Its most likely because he is not a rim protector and a shot blocker.....While that trait is important its not like we havn't seen good shot blocking Cs flop in the NBA who lack offensive versatility....For me id actually prefer the more all around skilled big man (Which is what Queen is) Rather than the offensive limited big man whos only skill is rim protection/shot blocking
And yeah Queens Def is good enough to keep him on the floor...Hes not going to get pushed around or be the worst defensive big in the league type of guy....Could he improve ofc....But every player at 9 we are looking at needs development....
As for Queens offensive package....Hes already got a NBA ready offensive package day one....If you put a tall lumbering big like Edey on him he will use his handle/guard like skills to beat him, If you put a smaller big to prevent him cooking them bigs on the permiter....He will back them down and bully them down low....
Also his passing will improve in the NBA, And he gets to the Free throw line at a high clip....
If we draft Queen though alot of fans here will be very upset....But you have to look at his good traits than harp on his weaknesses....Because i find alot of posters here harp on every prospects strengths but when it comes to Queen for some reason its always on his weaknesses and not his strenghts....Because his strengths make him a potential matchup nightmare in the NBA.
You can bring up red flags about every prospect at 9th area of this draft and them red flags you could make a case they will bust in the NBA....Its no different...
