I assume you mean that Gambo is speculating. When Gambo speculates, he is full of crap. When he reports, he is usually reliable.

"Gambo" is the name given to a carcass of an unidentified large marine animal that was reportedly washed up on Bungalow Beach in The Gambia.

You can argue against Booker/Kaminsky but we are a terrible defensive team. We deserve the lack of respect on that end of the court

He reported that is the lineup they have been practicing with as their starting lineup. He speculates that is the lineup that will start the game.

I agree, but it was just funny to come across in the Media Lounge of all places, especially since we were not the worst defensive team (or even 2nd worst) and that Brooklyn's defensive rating is only 1.3 pts better than ours. https://stats.nba.com/teams/defense/?sort=DEF_RATING&dir=-1&Season=2016-17&SeasonType=Regular%20Season

I think he is talking about the Bledsoe thing, which obviously has to be speculation.

I'm so sick of Watson's favoritism. There is absolutely ZERO, and I mean ZERO reasoning for starting Chandler over Len. So Len, is going to be flailing yet again, in mediocrity, or worse, all due to Watson's 'buddy-buddy' relationship with Chandler.
I hope Len requests a trade by mid-season, and is granted one, where we get, like, a 2021 2nd Rd pick, and he BLOWS UP, to the tune of like 15/12/2 Blks in 30MPG, because some other team's starting C got injured or something. Watson's an idiot if he starts Chandler over Len...unless, of course, he's trying to lose. I hope every media outlet makes a big deal out of it, wonders why the heck Watson started a decrepit, 35YO Chandler, who last year avg'd a whopping .5 Blks per 28 MPG.
I don't care that Len has 'hands of stone'; we need some friggin' defense in the paint, and we aren't going to start Len next to Warren? I love Warren, but Warren and Chandler has our 'Bigs'? I actually thought we might have a chance to dig out from under the cellar this season, but nope, not if Watson's plan is to start Chandler over Len. What else does Len have to do then what he did in pre-season?
Other than that, I like the JJ/Warren starting at the 3/4, but again, unless Watson wakes the F up, we're going to get destroyed.

Side note: McD goes to same gym I go to (he goes to the Village at 44th and Camelback) and I'm gonna talk to him if stuff goes sideways lol (as if my opinion will matter)

They are saying that Him and Pop had a sit down and came to an understanding.
But there are whispers that they re-signed him to get more value from him as trade bait and they are going to work on padding his stats a bit and trying to help raise his value. I guess it all depends on what team thinks he's still worth that amount.
I think the fact that they are only guaranteeing him $7M the final season point to it being trade bait. Makes him a bit easier to move, as i dont think that ive seen the Spurs really give out a deal where they are willing to only guarantee 1/3rd the contract in the final year. Usually they lock them up and keep giving them fully guaranteed 1 or 2 year deals, but not in Aldridges case.

I love your "are whispers" or "word is that.."
I was thinking when they signed it and almost posted on the General Board that perhaps they had a team interested in trading for him but didn't want to trade for one year of him and wanted him locked up for 3 years at reasonable value. A team that might feature him.
That seems like the best explanation to me.
Kerrsed wrote:I saw a few Spurs fan mention it on the trade board, then read something elsewhere that Aldridge still wants out, nothing has changed, but he is going along with the "Official Story" so that they can get a bit more value out of him, and that the new contract was due to them shopping him in the offseason and teams wernt willing to take him on as an expiring contract.
It makes some sense. Hell, if we wernt trying to tank this final season and were actually playing to win, i would be open to trying Alderidge out for a year or two, so as long as it didnt cost us anything major.
