We definitely need a boost there, but the Cavs are a good example of this.

Cleveland got Sam Merril after he bounced around the league and turned him into a vital role player last year which he’s continued to be this year. Cleveland also found Ty Jerome, who bounced around the league in a bit role, and has exploded for them this year. He’s putting up 12ppg in slightly under 20mpg.

Diamonds can be unearthed, but it’ll take the proper GM and coach to get us there. I think Rollins could be one of those dudes for us moving forward, but we’ll need the proper coach to put him in positions to succeed.

This is very true but the Cavaliers have an extremely talented and well rounded starting 5 that are all concievably still getting better.

The Bucks are in an entirely different position. We NEED to find several diamonds in the rough because our top of the roster talent level after Giannis is lacking and we have no other avenues to acquire players.

Fully agree coaching and GM are a massive issue but a Sam Merrill or a Ty Jerome does nothing for the trajectory of this team.

Think bigger, Dumars will want to make a splash:
Dame for Murray/Herb/Kelly/2026&2028 Swap rights undone

This plus retaining Sims means you can let Brook and Bobby walk.

See if Nico still wants Kuz.
Trade Pat to anyone who can take in his salary in exchange for a guy making less but has two years left.

Unless you got another move lined up with those swaps then I don't understand what we're actually accomplishing here. Prepping for a Giannis trade demand and you want to get out ahead of it going public?

Two remaining bullets in the chamber to build a contender around Giannis are the 31st and Dame.

For Dame, I'd be looking at Orlando. Maybe you can fetch Suggs but if they balk (which I'd expect), you can build a trade around 3 quality guys and draft compensation.
Dame, Livingston, Smith for KCP, Cole Anthony, Jon Isaac, Harris

Then Kuz, 31st, Dre for Deni and Kris Murray

Cole Anthony/ Rollins
KCP/ KPJ/ Green/ Gary Harris
Deni/ Kris Murray/ Pat
Giannis/ Bobby/ Thanasis
Jonathan Isaac/ Brook

Unrealistic? Yeah, probably. But something along the lines is what I'd be looking at

The PDX guys who drop in here will beclown you for that proposal purely on the merits of including Deni. It pains me admit so, but they will be right.

I think they may have given up 5, and probably leads them to not take the sunk cost this soon; however, the trade board leading offer looks like Gafford + Christie + 11 for Mikal.

That offer doesn’t seem all that hard to meet if that’s all it took. You could throw in a swap there, too. I just don’t know what the value of the ‘31 1st would really be.

You guys need to give up the Deni thing. Not because he's this awesome future superstar or anything, but it ain't happening.

Not sure if true but from Bucks reddit:
Rick Carlisle is 11-0 after going up 2-0 in a series, Doc Rivers is 0-6 when going down 0-2 in a series.

119.1 is solid? It’s below average.

You can't compare that to players on different teams, that's not the way it works.

Are you really trying to say Khris Middleton, one of the greatest Bucks of all time, the 2nd hero of that championship team, multi time All Star, Olympian, wasn't good?

If these 'Olympians' had skipped the Olympics they'd all have a 2nd title.

You shouldn’t. This is a solid forum.

I’m not going to dump on the Deni deal. I don’t need to-everyone know it’s straight a homer deal with no reason for POR to consider it.

Just need to draft an elite SF in my lifetime. Very lucky to experience this as a fan of a small market team. Not to mention the success we have in GB.

I’m not sure KPJ is a top 5 of all time point guard yet.

Think this through carefully. Any lineup without Sidney Moncrief can't see the light of All-This or Top Five That, let alone the cold light of dawn.

Not us, unfortunately. He's played himself out of Milwaukee. Would be nice to have AJ Johnson to take his spot in the next few years.

Since the our price for accepting Kuzma for AJ Johnson was the Wizards had to take on Midds' contract we don't have that option. Plus, as a franchise we gotta learn not to blow our wad on one player so we can, y'know, sign rotation player #3 instead of rotation player #11. Not that hard.

I disagree with the notion that this team lacks talent. Even if Bucks get swept I want everyone back and prove people wrong with a different coach. Yes coaching still matters in the NBA. We all saw that in Indy.

Looking into the roster I would continue building around Dame/Giannis. It’s not the time to remove Kuzma either. I like his size and athleticism and this team doesn’t have much of it. He just needs to focus on the little things he can definitely do and totally forget his Washington days where he had a green light for everything.

I also like all KPJ/GTJ/Green/Rollins. Just bring everyone back and make good decisions about the rotations and who fits better with Dame at the starting lineup. I’m going with Rollins.

Bobby is also a keeper. He has his limitations but his brings scoring and rebounding you can’t easily find from the bench. Brook is also a keeper IMO, but not in his current role and price. Does he settle as a situational backup big at Pat’s money? I would love that, I would hate anything more than that.

Dame, Rollins, XXX, Kuzma, Giannis

Porter, Trent, Green, Portis, Lopez

I still miss a starter, but I’m not willing to spend another first at this point. So, it’s Pat’s expiring salary and a combination of 2nd(s), Jackson, Livingston and Smith. I won’t be picky with that package, but I have to say I prefer a big wing that will push Kuzma/Giannis to 4 and 5 but will be able to help them defending and rebounding.

Was just thinking about GSW drafting Rollins to pair with Curry and how well he would work with Dame if he got the chance

In that scenario, we are relying on Rollins to grow quite a bit and its unlikely he makes that kind of jump. I like the kid, i just think we are so starved for young talent that we are making him out to be significantly more than he is.

He might be one if the worst starting SGs in the league next year. Hes also not a sg.

To the people saying we have enough talent...

Where do you think Luzma KPJ Prince Lopez are in OKC BOS CLE rotations? Because those are the championship contenders.

Is Prince getting a single playoff minute on these teams? Kuzma is 8th man at best same with KPJ. And yet these guys are playing 30+mpg for us...

Our talent is so pitiful that we need 65-80 points from Giannis and Dame to even have a chance to win a single playoff game.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
