I wasn't a huge Simmons guy before. This only makes me more comfortable landing in another direction this summer.

I would be more than content picking Ingram if we got the 2nd overall pick in the draft.

Is it wrong that part of me wants to see us lose a few games just to make sure we get Ulis(26 according to DX and should rise with a good tournament)? Simmons is now second on DX's mock draft.

I wouldn't have enough balls to draft either Ingram or Bender #1, but I'd be happier selecting any one of them #2 or #3 than getting #1 pick and having to choose Ingram/Simmons or Simmons dropping to 2/3. This may sound incredibly stupid, but that's how I feel.

Anyhow, the agent news sheds a new light on LeBron/Simmons lovefest back in December.

New draft express mock has Ingram #1. They have Boston taking Bender at 4, this is their first with 'team needs' factored in.

Interesting that several of the potential top-picking teams may be looking for more win-now talent. I could see LA, Phoenix, Boston, Sacramento at least looking to trade for current players with their picks.

I believed danny when he said he would have taken Durant over Oden. If we got the 1st pick and we didn't trade it. I don't think danny would have any problem taking Ingram over Simmons if he saw it that way.

Jonathan Givony of Draft Express just put Ingram as #1 pick in his mock draft. His recent article is not kind to Simmons.

Draft guys don't usually go overboard with their opinion, either way, because it can make them look bad in the future. Givony is legit and he had some strong points.

https://sports.yahoo.com/news/why-ben-simmons-isn-t-the-top-prospect-in-the-2016-nba-draft-190023711.html

This quote is really interesting.

Simmons’ box scores have grown increasingly hollow. One NBA executive described him as a “taller Rajon Rondo, a more athletic Evan Turner, or a skinnier Royce White.” Simmons has displayed a penchant for stat-mongering like few players in recent memory, seeming to pad his numbers in blowouts. At times, it appears he only passes when guaranteed an assist and chases home-run plays at inopportune times in search of a highlight. Simmons seems to value those things over winning.

Givony runs a hype machine, he is just adjusting to what many have been saying for months on the forums, he goes with the wind that blows the strongest always, plus discrepancy and all that is always good for clickbaiting.
I had Ingram ahead of Simmons since July last year.

Can we call Cordinier the French Gerald Green or no?

The thing that scares me about Ingram @ #1 is his low floor due to his low weight. There is some chance of reaching for potential like Detroit did with Darko over star-but-not-generational Melo.
It is not completely rational, but I'd bet Hinkie felt the same way picking Okafor over Porzingis last season. Phil Jackson was probably pretty happy when Philly selected Okafor so he could take Porzingis without that type of risk.

I love the idea of Bender on this Celtics team with Stevens. But I doubt McDonough lets him get past Phoenix unless there is a high pressure from Sarver to win now.
Bender is one year ahead of schedule since he was 14 (played u16 with 14, u17 with 15, u18 with 16, pro with 17), so that year will have to be accounted for in his NBA first year. He's (almost to the date) two years younger than KAT, 1 year and 10 months than Zinger, yet there would be only one year between them getting drafted.

My opinion is that Givony guys really doesn't like Simmons, but he can't say it due to the general public.

Yeah he seems down on the whole LeBron crew right now. Maybe since they leak all their stuff through Windhorst or whoever, Woj is free to publish bad publicity without any additional negative repercussions.

Honestly would prefer taking Ingram over Simmons if the Celtics get the #1 pick.

Best thing would be winning the lotto and trading the pick for a stud. We win now and someone else can pick between them

I'm convinced that LeBron set up Clutch Sports with his friend as the figure head, but in reality, that's LeBron's agency. So what I'm saying is I've always thought Lebron was getting the 10% agent fee from all the contracts he's negotiating for his players. that's got to be illegal, but hard to proof. Maybe LeBron is getting a 5% cut and Paul is getting the other 5%. I'm sure there's a way to funnel the money owed to LeBron through sneaky accounting practices from Paul's agency. Why else would LeBron go on his rants on twitter, etc about signing Tristan Thompson to that ridiculous contract? Maybe cause LeBron's getting 5% of Tristan's earnings without anyone knowing besides Paul. I wonder how Tristan would react knowing his teammate is skimming 5% of his own contract? I'd be kinda pissed, but that's just me. And now, he's going to covertly scrape off of Simmon's rookie contract and beyond.

BTW, Georges Niang can play. He'll be a late 2nd round pick and a pleasant surprise for the team that drafts him.

Can anyone explain why is Bender projected so high?

It has to be post Porzingis effekt...Anyone closely following european basketball and seen him play enough to give some facts.

Now watched weaknesses video:
- slow release
- not athletic and fast enough to get to the rim when defense is set
- no post moves
- defense Im not concerned, with more muscle and strenght he will be ok, looks agile enough

But yes in todays nba probably very solid allaround smallball C, with outside shot. Its hard to find a good comparison imo.

Looking talent, team needs, construction of team he is a great fit for MIN and PHO imo...also for us off course.Whoever picks fisrta of PHO/MIN will pick him imo.

If the Celtics want another big that can't rebound (see Zeller & KO), then Poeltl would be their guy.

If his rebounding was better, I would consider him, but it's pretty bad for a guy his height. Oregon just blew his team out and he was a joke on the glass.

Hmm. He averages 9 rbs per game. That was not his best game.
