it would hurt the pels as much as it would help the knicks. if zion is only as good as melo, then your initial statement is moot. if he's amazing enough to turn the pelicans into a dynasty, the league would rather have him do that in the #1 market instead of the 2nd smallest market in the league

Zion on the Pelicans with a young core and exciting play helps the league far more. Brings eyeballs to the Pels games and drives fans to the arena(once the pandemic is over).

same thing for whatever team he's with! there's no guarantee that the pelicans are going to have much talent around him in the long-term. and it's not like they're talent central right now. is zion, ingram, lonzo and jaxson hayes really a foundation for a dynasty? doubt it. and holiday is 30 w/ 1-2 years left on his deal. doubt he's in their long-term plans

are you trying to help the pelicans or help the entire league? 'cause at least locally, there are more than 10x the potential eyeballs on the knicks then there are on the pels. particularly when NY basketball fans are starved for a winner

there's a difference between breaking up a made dynasty and breaking up a young team with potential.

i bet if the league could go back and blow up the warriors dynasty before it even happened and send steph to NYC they'd even consider that

In the end, shouldn’t these guys be happy their company/employers are going to maximum lengths for health security and also supporting BLM, which is very divisive for share-holders, investors, sponsors?

Personally, I get that it’s in the NBA owners interests to just get the ball going so that some money is recouped in ratings and sponsorship, but I give them kudos for seemingly doing their best working with the player association.

Only thing I didn’t care for is that they chose Orlando, especially now that FL is the epicenter. Wouldn’t it have made more precautionary sense putting the bubble in Iowa or something? It’s just strange that this coincides with Disney World opening up. How are the risks not magnified?

Moving forward, it might actually make sense to build up something like an Olympic village in the complete middle of no-where for next season(s). You don’t need stadium seating so these courts can be relatively small.

The Florida thing was seen a mile away that would eventually be an epicenter. They declared sports as an essential service so here we are.

They choice was Vegas or Disney. I think Vegas would have been too much of a temptation to burst the bubble so Florida it was. And when you think its part of ESPN, it was a no brainer.

To tell you the truth, I still dont like the idea of this because I think it will somewhat break 2 seasons.
