I think someone said we could then get him from Minnesota for Dragic or something, who could also leave them in a year. There are very few people in the entire league Wiggins would be traded for.
I don't even think Cleveland would trade him for Love (even if Love said he would stay long term) if they don't get LeBron.
I think you way overvalue wiggins. He's not the can't miss prospect people thought he was coming out of highschool. There would be at least 15 guys Cleveland would trade him straight up for(ignoring salary) and another 15 or so you could conceivably build a trade around with other assets. Would they trade him straight up for Bledsoe? No, but you're crazy if you don't think they'd trade him for love.
Personally I don't overvalue him, and I thought he was a big letdown in college. But I think VERY few teams would risk trading who many think could be a future franchise player and superstar. Especially guys on rookie contracts. You may be right that they would trade him for Love since they want to compete but there are some teams that probably wouldn't. It all really depends on the state of the team.
I think people build up the draft hype too much. I actually love it and always have high hopes, but I think people generally expect rookies to be able to contribute much more than they actually can and underestimate the giant gulf between talent at the college and nba levels.
If Cleveland projects Wiggins to be a generational talent though, it might not make sense to trade him for Love IF they don't get LeBron because they are a young team anyway. Where would just Love take them now? If all their young guys grow together though, they could turn into OKC down the road.
I also think people deem draft picks busts too fast too. A guy like Bennett could still turn out to be really good. You have to give a guy 2-3 years.
