this seems more than just talk...respected reports are coming out that Clarkson to the knicks is a thing.
He makes sense. Good character. Team guy. Durable. He can play SG. Cheap. He fits the profile that the Front Office uses to look for in a player.
I think the FO should be looking at one of two things.
Guys that can either hit a 3 or defend (ideally with some size)...ideally both together (but that is tough to come by with how little funds we have).
I would have to dive into Clarkson C&S potential because is raw 3 pt numbers are rough.
Clarkson on Catch and Shoots by season
24-25 37% on 3.1 attempts
23-24 33.3% on 2.9 attempts
22-23 33.9% on 4.0 attempts
21-22 31.3% on 3.9 attempts
Not great but not awful either I guess. It's encouraging that he was up to 37% this season.
Looking at his career shot chart he is at 38% from the left corner which is pretty good. Maybe the Knicks thinking he could be a corner shooter with some creation is worth it for either a portion of the MLE or minimum. Knicks desperately needed another source of shot creation. You could do worse than Clarkson given what our restraints are.
