What roster are we going to pitch LeBron? It sure as hell cannot have all of these rookies on here. I suck at cap numbers and holds. Love is the first chip. But I think we need to go much further in getting better vets and bench help.
Well you would assume the most likely deal for Love would include Waiters, Bennett, and Thompson and picks. That leaves you with this roster:
Irving/Jack/Dellavedova
Wiggins/Karasev/Harris
James/Felix/Hopson
Love/
Varejao/Zeller/Haywood
Obviously there are two huge holes on that team at backup PF and backup SG. Plus I still think that Jack wants out and that management wants to grant his wish. I would not be surprised if Jack and Haywood's contract are packaged for a backup big. Brooklyn has been chasing Jack for a while, but unless we could get AK who has a history with Blatt, Im not sure who else fits. JKidd also really wanted Jack and the Bucks have a need at backup PG. I could see the Cavs targeting Pachulia as a solid vet backup. Plus then we sign an additional backup big ring chaser for cheap. Here's a list of a few available big's that fit the bill:
Chris Anderson, Dejuan Blair, Ed Davis, Boris Diaw, Rashard Lewis, Charlie Villanueva
Pick one of those guys, I'll say Blair, and add in the big we trade for with Jack and Haywood's contract, I went with Pachulia, and all of a sudden our front court would be pretty solid, especially considering Love can play the 5 for stretches, and LeBron the 4.
Trading out Jack would give us a small hole at backup PG assuming Delly isnt ready to take that large of a role. If there's one thing we've seen, it's that there are always a ton of backup PG's available in free agency:
Jarryd Bayless, Steve Blake, Aaron Brooks, Mario Chalmers, Jordan Farmar, Jimmer Fredette, Kirk Hinrich, Jameer Nelson, Luke Ridnour, Ramon Sessions, Earl Watson, Mo Williams
Take your pick of one of these guys, Im picking Mo, on a small deal and suddenly the only hole remaining is backup SG. It's been widely reported that Ray Allen wants to follow LeBron for one more season to see if he can get another ring. Now it would take some major convincing to get him to Cleveland, but with Love, Irving, and Wiggins all on board I have a tough time seeing him say no.
Final B Mac dream, but not all together unfeasible roster:
Irving/Williams/Dellavedova
Wiggins/Allen/Karasev/Harris
James/Felix/Hopson
Love/Blair
Varejao/Zeller/Pachulia
There might be a bit of a crunch on minutes in the back court, but I would expect that team to go small quite a bit with Love at the 5, LeBron at the 4, and Wiggins at the 3. Imagine a 3 point shooting lineup of: Irving/Williams/Allen/James/Love
Anyways, back to reality...
