But he's a free agent next year. I think OKC fleeced Orlando - getting Oladipo, Sabonis, and Ilyasova.

That is just amazing how incompetent Sacramento is. They could have had Chriss - who would have been a perfect complement to Cousins. Instead, they trade down and pick yet another center - one who's just about as raw as Thon Maker. Un Bee ieevable.

Yeah, on top of that, Georgios has gotta be the softest-looking skinny-fat big I've seen since Seven-Day Blatche. No muscle tone = no bueno.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I agree. I will never forget what Jay Bilas said before the 2010 draft. Bilas is a sober analyst. not prone to hyperbole -- except perhaps when talking about physical measurables. He said he had worked with Cousins and simply wouldn't draft him. He's used some euphemisms to basically say that Cousins was too big of an as*hole to risk having on your team. Cousins has flashed supreme talent, yes. Sacramento has been a picture of dysfunction, yes. But Cousins has done little to nothing to dispel his bad rap. To boot, while he's uber-talented and put up huge counting stats, his inefficiency makes him not particularly productive. Maybe after some more humbling, aging, and maturing, he can take the Rasheed Wallace route and be some team's final piece. But I wouldn't build around him; no way.

But don't you think a lot of the problems he's gone through was caused by the circus that Sac's terrible management has caused? The one coach that did reasonably well there - Brendan Malone - was fired, and a decent reason was never given. George Karl was hired, and he's always had a screw loose. The closest thing they've had to a PG was Isaiah Thomas - who's much more scorer than distributor - and they made zero effort to re-sign him when he became a free agent. The best player they've had to team with Cousins has probably been Rudy Gay - who was a very inefficient scorer when they acquired him. They had Karl and Vlade clearly on different pages last season. It's a bad situation that he's been put in. I'm more worried about his turnovers than his maturity.
