Yes hanging onto the 2029 first so we can trade 3 firsts next offseason would be ideal.
But this might be the last year we have Giannis if we don’t win another ring (or at least come close). Maybe he’ll do other interviews to calm fears but at the moment it sure seems he’s not overly happy with our offseason.
The fact is the Middleton/Jrue/Lopez have expiration dates right around the time Giannis can walk and they're looking less like a championship core now despite the pay raise. The Bucks don't have any picks or young players they can realistically hope to develop into a championship piece that can replace our core that we're determined to let rot into the ground, we're at the end of the rope and Horst is going to need to show a lot more brains & testicular fortitude he hasn't shown before to avoid this inevitable cliff we're hurtling towards.
blowing our wad for a 3rd PG would be dumb isn't going to move the needle or get us closer to a championship, what matters is Giannis & our championship core playing to expectation in the playoffs. Lopez and Jrue aren't playoff guys, Middleton's health is a huge question mark, and we'll get our ass kicked in any series minus Giannis. Maybe the stars align this next season or two, maybe Griffin changes things but I doubt it, the Bucks are who we've thought they were.
