My point is maybe you should’ve stopped after the 2nd sentence? Jumping the gun and laying the foundation for failure in your mind 2 years from now is going to make you crazy for no reason if you honestly believe we can win a title this year. What’s the point of doing that to yourself? You think we can win this year… great, why not just focus on that and be happy?
Jumping the gun is what the front office is doing not me.
The Knicks state doesn't dictate my happiness, otherwise I'd have jumped into a woodchipper 15 years ago.
I don’t get it, but do you

White was on a championship level team. Bridges was with the Nets and then had the worst offensive HC in the league last year. Over their careers they are pretty much even talent. You must be high if you can't tell the difference between cherry picking two years out of 9 and actual career numbers.
White has been in a perfect situation. Mikal has not over the last two seasons. It's not that difficult to see reality. You're just cherry picking stats that serve your failed agenda driven post.
Facts and context matter. You haven't used either.
bruh? derrick white hit damn near every single 3 pointer he took against us series long while mikal was tossing up clankers on the break? if we had derrick white instead of mikal we might have won the championship lol

New teammates, new system, no surprise he was inconsistent.
I only expect him to be slightly better, people forget he's a 3rd or forth option.
He's just not going to get the touches he got with the NETS, and he basically average the same stats as a 4th option on the SUNS as he's doing with the Knicks

I will say that Derrick White is better than Mikal in my book. But that being said, picking out Derrick White as the comparison for this deal seems like cherrypicking. There are so many deals out there to be compared to, and the cap is rising.
I mean, we have our own example of that on our team. We have Jalen Brunson earning less than 35 million a year, McBride at 4 mill a year, etc.
I agree that Brunson's contract is one of the best in the league. I wasn't cherry picking, they play the same position. I'm pointing out that we are getting fleeced on a deal that we don't have to sign. We'll have so much more information at the end of this year, and if we want to keep Bridges because we made a final or won a title -- great. The cap difference really doesn't matter if we're successful and he's healthy after leading the league in minutes forever. Just play it out. The Knicks could have always offered more than any suitor after next year, and if Bridges sucks, gets hurt, or we lose again in the playoffs then who gives a ****? The core needs to be shipped out anyway.

That’s horrible asset management for a team that’s already over the cap to not re-sign one of their core players to a cheaper contract and wait. Especially when he would be one of the best players available in the market next offseason and he would certainly get a much bigger deal. And the team just reached a conference finals for the first time in 25 years thanks to his contributions in the playoffs. Why would they put themselves in a position where one of their core players has their looming contract talks on their mind all season?
